I went through the RSO training and it was my understanding that you just don't go man handle someone's firearm unless they are about to do something stupid. I don't see the point in tapping anything against someone's firearm. If the other RSO was there I would of just confirmed with him if he checked your ammo. No offense to you but I work in a prison and have an ex wife so I'm used to being lied to. It's hard to take someone for their word anymore.

It's unfortunate that a lot of RO feel they are the "police" and then carry attitudes on top of that.

Ranges are scarce, and the rules (like no holsters, no "rapid" fire, etc.) make practical training impossible.

Go to BLM, or better, NF, or best of all, rural private property.

I was thinking that also. What was the point in that? Someone mentioned Discount Gun Mart, and everytime I bring an 'AR they always have to drag it out of its bag, hold it aloft and talk about it, while pulling the 'handle back a few times. One of the younger guys there picked up my 1911 and racked the slide a few times. I mean, that's great and all that I've got stuff that's cool enough for them to want to touch, but are all of these behaviors policy? I can't imagine so. If it is, fine, but I don't have to like it, and the least they can do is be polite/professional about it...
