I was just reminded last time I went to Angeles with a group and for the second time in five minutes (not counting that as soon as we put our bags on the rear benches and opened them, another RO had started to look through) the range officer asked to check our ammunition, we then stated politely that we were good to go because the other range officer right there already checked. The RO in front of us just smirked and took a bullet, tapped it against my friend's rifle stock, then tapped it against the magnet, then said we were good to go and that he doesn't trust anyone.
I understand that there are alot of people on the range and that some people bring the wrong ammo but why tap the bullet against my friends gun? I'm sure if I did this at Turners or Riflegear on a gun that did not belong to me, I would have been asked to not do that.
Thinking about it again, I'm annoyed. At the moment at the range since I was surprised, I didn't feel good about the whole interaction.
How would you guys have felt? I don't mind the ammo check. I mind the snarky attitude and the minor violation of property.
