Why do indoor ranges only allow certain ammo?

I understand the reason for steel cased ammo but why aluminum cased ammo, it sorta blows that I cant shoot my cheap blazer aluminum cased at some ranges

There is another issue with the "only brass" right now. There is none to buy in the stores and the ranges are often out of the common cal. 9mm, 45acp.........
My good friend was turned away from the range in Beaumont because He brought in Blazer 9mm and 45acp. He said "Ok then can I buy some of your range ammo". The reply "Oh we are out of 9mm and 45." So we left and they lost out on range fees $$$$$. Really great business practices. I guess there is more money in brass than lane rentals.

Don't get me wrong the folks there are nice and I will go back. But range operators need to take into account the current market supply. If there is no brass ammo to buy from the stores or themselves then a short term adjustment needs to be made to their business plan.
