That guy is an obnoxious tool who feigns knowledge of all things gun-related yet screws up VERY basic things. His hyperbole is also annoying because everything is just AMAZING (yes, I know it is his job to play everything up).
Thanks god!!!! People agree with me! I can't stand the show becuase it always boils down the name of the weapon then moves to "this is awesome" (dramatic voice). Following the 30 second "awesome" sequence, there is then 5 minutes of trigger time which ends in "This is one awesome weapon." He does not explain any of the technical stuff I'd like to hear.

Oh and agreed, the whispering is creepy x 1000.
If I didn't know wtf I was watching I would expect chris hansen from "to catch a predator" to pop out at any minute.
"Excuse me whisper guy - can you have a seat right over here please?"

Nothing beats Gunny shooting up all them watermelons. Every gun shop I have been in recently has his pic w/autograph or giant size poster.

Coolest thing was the FA shotgun w/ a 20 round drum magazine. Saw a magazine article on it a while back, but great to see in action. They have a whole variety of shells to use with it... you can go w/ 00 buck or you can get really creative. One is actually a fin-stablized warhead that is effective out to almost 200 yds. Can be HE round, fragmentation round or armor piercing.

Gotta get me one of those!
I like the equipment they show but the host is annoying as hell. Why is he always whispering? Is he practicing for being a host on the golf channel or something?

Haha, yeah he does always whisper... I think he is trying to be really intense or something. Gotta love the weapons he gets to play with though. Talk about one awesome job.

He is not intense... he is annoying. Gunny is intense. The futureweapons guy is like on the verge of a nervous breakdown or something... seems like he is going to snap and wipe out the camera crew. Maybe its actually just Steven Segal without the ponytail....

One of my former supervisors told me a hilarious story about "The Gunny". I can't go into too much detail because I value my job.

A couple of years ago Gunny got pulled over by a chippie for DUI. This chippie ended up hooking Gunny for the DUI and taking him in to the local Sheriff's station to sober up.

Well of course, all the deps. recognized him and were pissed that the chippie actually hooked the Gunny. Anyway, they all catered to him and were getting autographs and stories. Gunny was real cool about it.

Well, "Sgt. By the book" comes in and tells the deps to go back to work. He also tells Gunny that he's just another inmate and that he'll get no special treatment while in jail. Big Mistake!!!

The Gunny just starts going off on the Sgt. It's a scene right out of FMJ! He tells the Sgt that he's a fat sack and a waste of this and that. He tells him that if he was in his Core he would've done this and that to him. The Sgt was dumbfounded. He didn't know what to do. He got all red and just stood there in shock.

All of the deps. were standing there laughing their asses off! I guess nobody liked this SGT to begin with.

Pretty funny huh? I beleive my supervisor too. Just thought you guys would get a kick out of that story.
