    Moving to colorado - firearms

I have been recently offered a job in colorado, pueblo and I intend to move there. I want to move my 5 rifles to that location. Is there any paper work I need to go through before I can carry my firearms to that state. Please help.

No paperwork required to move to another state with firearms.

As far as state law goes, you will be fine. But iirc Colorado does not have preemption and local ordinances vary.

Here are the local ordinances. Note, they prohibit open carry, though it is generally allowed in the state. Apparently the CO constitution allows it, but the courts have different ideas

            No paperwork required.

We have a 2A equivalent in our State Constitution

“The right of no person to keep and bear arms in defense of his home, person and property, or in aid of the civil power when thereto legally summoned, shall be called in question; but nothing herein contained shall be construed to justify the practice of carrying concealed weapons.”

            Article II, Section 13.
Registration is forbidden in Colorado - CRS 29-11.7-102

            There is a Preemption Clause

I am a law enforcement officer in the state of Colorado. Nothing I post is legal advice of any kind.
