Just bought my first Semi-Automatic handgun. Been a revolver guy for awhile but figured having a nice 9mm around wouldn't hurt. I know the Glock is a reliable platform but the Beretta 92fs fit so well in my hand. The Beretta is also the first handgun I ever fired. I'm 6'3 230lbs so I like a full size gun. The size and weight of the Beretta just seems like a good fit. Just though I'd share, see if there are any fans out there. I'm sure I'll still like my .357 better...

Physique-wise I'm the opposite of you, at 5'4 175# but I love the 92FS for it's feel, handling, looks and especially those white dot sigts. I'm thinking I should've picked up the M9-A1 but I can live without the rail. I will say that it fits in my hands perfectly-I don't see this is a big gun at all, but then again this is my first handgun, lol. Just picked up a 1911 also, and I'm hoping that I'll get used to shooting this thing as well. I think I'd like to try a revolver someday...Just bought my first Semi-Automatic handgun. School me on the Beretta 92 Series.
I put this little bit of information together, hopefully there is some useful sutff in there as well.

I just picked up my 92FS yesterday from my FFL.
Now to find some ammo at a reasonable price. It seems to have disappeared.
It really does fit well. Looking forward to shooting it this Saturday.NRA memberComment

I love my 92FS! Have had it for several years and have about 1,500 rounds through it. Prior to its purchase, I shot USP, Glock, Springfield, CZ, and even a Hi-Power. The 92FS just felt the best. And I'm not a giant either - 6', 200lbs.
The only other pistol I've shot that felt as good was a Sig226. Need to get one of those because I really liked it.
Pistols are like shoes though. What fits perfect for one person could be terrible for another. The 92 is a big semi and I do know a number of people who just don't like its feel. For me, it's great.Comment

Thank you
the grips came from bolsa gunsmithing in OC.
I have used a Springfield 40, SW 40, Beretta PX4 9mm, Sig....
After renting, or using a friends, I always went back to the 92fs. Like a poster above said its like a shoe. This shoe fits me and feels so comfortable.
Word of advise: get a good holster so the snap doesn't eat into the grip. And shoot A LOT of rounds in the first year. I had mine on safe and racked it, somehow I broke a tiny little tab under the slide. Beretta took it in and fixed it for free with an upgrade then resighted it.
I've put 6-7000 rounds since the repair without one issue. Usually 1k or so between cleaning without one FTF or squib load. I put anything in it. Steel case, reloads, cheap factory, JHP, Hornady...it eats it up.Comment

Thanks for all the tips guys I appreciate the info. I'm just glad there was one at a reasonable price to buy. Every LGS is empty right nowComment

I hated the M9 while I was in the Navy, but in a fit of nostalgia I bought a 92FS from a calgunner a couple years back and I could be happier with it. It's truly a wonderful piece of engineering, and it feels right in my hands.NRA Life Member

Lol, you're not the only person in the service who's said the exact same thing. As for 9mm 'ammo, I do hope to find some soon, as I certainly miss shooting the Beretta...
