Walmart: Dept Managers no longer allowed to order ammo

Just left a Walmart in Orange County. The sporting goods manager said they got called today by corporate and said all ammo orders can only be placed by corporate until further notice.

He suspects something may have transpired as a result of the meeting with Biden. He had no idea when ammo would be replenished. Plenty of 30-06 and shotgun shells. Lots of .22 WMR. Not much else.

Not a big fan of Walmart.They are the countries biggest seller of guns and ammo.

Would be unpleasantly surprised if they caved.Change may have to do with high demand at the moment.Walmart employees seem to have a history of supplying misinformation.

From what I've heard, it doesn't matter what they order anyways. They can place orders all day, but it doesn't mean they'll get it. They don't know what they'll actually get until it comes off the truck.

Saw a news article today that said LE was starting to have difficulty in ordering ammo. Same article said that backlogs on ammo, guns and parts could be outwards of a year until the industry can catch up.

How long until we're smelting our silverware down for match rounds? Yeah I suppose he may have interpreted the phone call differently than some other managers have. Anyway, he got the directive this afternoon.

I asked the manager tonight about that. He said they stopped selling guns in CA 10 years ago because of all the additional oversight and liability costs CA places on dealers.
