I was told by a guy at the Anaheim store today, that there is a freeze on ammo at Walmart indefinitely. They were selling what they had, but corporate wasn't ordering anything in until all the craziness is over. I didn't ask him if it was a national or regional thing though.

BTW- They have 0 9mm, and a few boxes of .40 left, I bought most of it. So sorry

BTW- I asked a guy about when they got their ammo shipments in, back in Nov, he said they never know. So, it's not a new thing. Just the way they do things, probably due to their crazy prices.

Thats because some old guys off Calguns wipe it clean everytime they restock it. Think he even said he has someone call him whenever they get the "good stuff" in. Aero and Palm ave are now bare.... now theyve even come to the barrio in beachside Chula Vista (my turf) and wiped it clean every chance they get. I think the customers complain so much that they havent ordered anything in months. I would never just buy the whole lot of ammo like a selfish !@#$ like many of these folks do. Half of these people are HOARDING ammo for no reason at all. Some of these Calgunners are the true enemy

My 2 pennies Walmart is corporate, cash in king in the accounting world

They have to wait their place in line like everybody else for product(s)

Earlier before the clerk gave my ammo for purchase, he was telling

His coworker he was allocated handgun ammo <didnt hear caliber>

Someone earlier bought the 10 boxes he was unpacking from his pallet cart

He was restocking when i was there little after 10am

Ammo is selling as fast as they are restocking it,as it seems

          In stores across the U.S

I felt like I bought gold yesterday when I came across the Remington .223 50 packs at my local Walmart. Everything is wiped out!

I was fortunate enough to walk into a Walmart about a week ago as they were opening a pallet of ammo to stock the shelves. 1/2 the boxes were a mix of ammo, but the clerk let 4 of us go to town opening every box and pulling what we wanted. I got 2 of the 4 boxes of .308 and 4 of the 12 boxes of .22 (225 count). Timing seems to be everything these days. Doubt I'll get that lucky again for a while!

Eureka Walmart last night was devoid of most anything outside some of the more.. obscure things.

Like, there was next to nothing in the 9mm, .45, .40. 100 round pack of some FMJ .40 S&W for 40 bucks. Box of 20 .40 HP for 25 bucks. NO .223 anywhere. Completely devoid of .22LR. Had some .17, ton of .308 and .30-06. Almost completely out of 12ga anything. Low on 20ga(oddly) but no other gauges of shotshell were to be seen.

                Made me very sad.

Yep, I concur, except I will add that it is not just "old guys." Funny thing is, people on here complain about Wally World always being out of stock, yet many times they and others on here would be the first to clean them out as soon as it hits the shelf. Max I buy is 2 boxes of any one caliber, as I just think it is rude to buy all 10+ boxes (or everything that they just got in). I can totally see how it gets very old for the employees of WW to hear the same question and attitude each day for the same people coming in for ammo.

                    Yadda yadda yadda.....

I was thinking of taking a drive to AZ as I need more miles on company truck to get a new one and gas is free. Is there any LGS or Walmart that constantly stocks 223/308? Maybe I can do a small group run. I say small but it would probably be a lot lol

half of you here are weak and lame that will basically wind up being happy with .22 single shot pistols or single barrel shotguns..

Spoke to walmart employee that orders ammo. He was able to order 40/9/22 but states that .223 is unavailable to order from warehouse at this time.
