    Walmart ammo before and after....

    Others may chime in also

Several months ago @ 3 different Walmarts i was able to get

    American eagle .223 20rounds@$7.00 <Manteca>

    Green Tip 5.56 420 in can $167plus tx <Tracy>

    American eagle .223 "value" pack 100rds@$35 <Milpitas>

Well either of those 3 were "always" in stock but just lucky timing

After the dust settles will "popular" calibers still sit on shelves? Or will

they (popular ammo) be like unicorns or Sasquatch, the label/barcode

Is there but product(s) are never seen?? Just some monday humor CG

    have a good evening

I think it depends on the Walmart. My Walmart in orange NEVER has had any ammo like that other then basic federal value packs and winchester white box. I always hear of walmarts more north or rural areas stocking ammo like you mentioned, green tip, 556 ect. Never seen anything good at mine, and I go to Walmart usually once a week. They just started carrying fancy boxes of federal hollow point in 9, 40, 45

Sorry, i worded part of it wrong..most of the .223/5.56 was OOS @ Wally World

It didnt phase me 2 much when the "popular ammo" wasnt avail since PSA had

      same items avail....i.e. .223 "100rd" value pack i bought 2 of 7 boxes avail,

sent 1 box down range the other maybe ill frame it and or save it

when zombies take over all i know im still a noob here @ CG but this has been

craziest 20 or so weeks since i joined

I used to call regularly to check stock. Now ill check only if I'm in the store for coke (usually the cheaper than costco). I find the attendants at the ammo counter absolutly rude and repulsive if I even glance at the empty ammo shelves. I was literally yelled at by the bald fat guy at the clairmont mesa store when I checked for ammo and mentioned that it said his inventory said "in stock" on THE website. He want off saying he wished everyone reading forums like Calguns and ar-15 would stop comming in and wasting his time. And, that "they" dont even know what or when they get ammo. I gladly pointed out that it was in fact walmart.com that I obtined the info. Before I could whip out my phone to show him he turned beet red and walked off.

The Wal-mart in Bako that I check has no rhyme or reason when the ammo gets stocked.

Sometimes it's been stocked overnight, and other times, like at 11 AM, and a couple times later in the afternoon, they stock it.

The manager is a guy I went to High School with is the manager there and told me it's whenever the truck gets there.

          Shelves are bare here too.

The girls at the ammo counter in Tracy are awesome. Always cool and are familiar with stock and answer questions.

Oh, and I've never seen M885 at the Tracy Walmart! DRAT

I have to say he is telling the truth based on experience. Each store never knows when or what they get for the most part, or at least the sporting goods person does not. I am sure it gets old people coming in all day asking the same thing and possibilty giving you attitude. Just saying....he might have reason to get a little irritated. Maybe he just needed a hug? Lol

The Walmart in HB gets some of that stuff in, but it's usually all purchased by whoever is there when the pallet gets rolled out

I have noticed a huge diffrance in the ammo stocked at the Westminster and HB stores. The Westminster store always seams to have a little better selection.

                      Cheers,

The planets were probably aligned the day i found the green can @ Tracy

Walmart but, someone on CG also posted Walmart(s) were unable to have the

green tip 5.56 avail so they switched to normal 5.56 in the can(s) i never even

bothered to open the can (like an idiot) until i read the post about it

i think the barcode description in manteca Walmart actually says 5.56 stndrd

where the green can is usually placed

I'm in Manteca and have seen varied shipments come into our Walmart lately. They get a shipment everyday, call by 7:00 am is what I was told. They can put ammo on hold same day. Just a tip from a fellow Mantecan.

The only ammo I find cheap at Walmart in Chino Hills/Irvine and deem the best deal, is the 9mm Federal 100 pack for $19.99 and the 7.62x39 Tulammo for $4.95/20 rounds.

The .223 brass is expensive to me if available. I don't shoot the cheaper .223 Tula.

The .40S&W is marginally more expensive. I buy that there when I'm desperate.

I see lots of .380 and .38 special ammo always in plentiful stock and at a cheap price, making me want to switch to those pistol calibers...

I always do a weekly *pilgrimage* to my nearby Walmart during my lunch break and see if I get lucky!

All I saw at the Wal Mart off Aero Drive in SD was tons of 12ga birdshot, plenty of .40, some 9mm I've never seen before, Tula .380, 25-20, a couple of boxes of .22mag and one box of WWB .44mag. I'd love to be able to find some 7.62x39 or even .22s.
