    Still not right

Please just delete the words assault weapons from your use of language. Describe the guns by model. That would avoid terrible confusion here and elsewhere. Assault guns are illegal period for all practical purposes and any reference to them invariably becomes a hot button.

Yup they pulled certain firearms that are non - politically correct in appearance from public display.

I asked the manager why and received no answer .. just the Customer Service #

ok seeings how this topic has gone off on a tangent for my improper labeling.

what exactly should i say. doesn't AR stand for "assault rifle" and isn't that what the 22 rifles is supposed to mimic?

The AR-15 is based on the 7.62 mm AR-10, designed by Eugene Stoner, Robert Fremont, and L. James Sullivan of the Fairchild ArmaLite corporation.[9] The AR-15 was developed as a lighter, 5.56 mm version of the AR-10. The "AR" in AR-15 comes from the ArmaLite name. ArmaLite's AR-1,

It's not an assault rifle unless it has a shoulder thing that goes up? I just learned about that one myself...

so for those still looking for them they do carry them at big 5 you just have to ask.
The AR pattern rifles are on "double secret probation"? How do they expect to sell them if they hide them? That certainly doesn't appear to be the best business plan if a store is striving for success.

Thank you OP; good for letting us know.

You know, some of you are so ungrateful. I can't recall the last time I had the chance to pick up a full auto Sturmgewehr 44 or Enfield SA-80 on the cheap, at Big 5 prices, so instead of ragging on the poor guy, we should be thanking him profusely. And I am so close to the Beverly Hills Big 5, I bet they've got Vietnam surplus USGI M16s in stock at $699 a pop.

                              Shame on all of you.
