Hey! I saw that episode! I don't believe that their results are supportable since there was only one 'shelf' in the 'shop' and it had plasticware on it instead of real china. It was also bolted to the wall and the floor and was electrified so that the "bull" (which really was a cow) would stay away from it.

To me it was just typical Mythbusters style. Sort of close to the 'myth' but not really with inconclusive results and suspect testing methods that leave out a lot of things.

Must have been another episode. I saw one where they had multiple shelves, outside. The bulls (plural - they loosed several at once) tried their damnedest to avoid hitting anything. They were quite nimble. Video here.

Guys make sure that your pistols are registered to you if you do this. Don't bring your grandpas pistol that your uncles cousin gave you but you never did any paperwork on it. It'll just be a hassle to get it back from the police if they did start trouble.
Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

This states wear concealed, or carry concealed, by the grammatical text.

Okay even assuming that it was applied as you were reading it, this ordinance would be pre-empted by California law. This would interfere with already established law.

Looking at the context of the ordinance however, there is no prohibition to carrying any of those items in an exposed fashion.

The title of the ordinance even says..."Carrying concealed
                      Emphasis mine.

Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim -- when he defends himself -- as a criminal. Bastiat

You're right. That's the way I read it the first time. I read it again and brain farted.

I'm currently in a "11" day wait for my XD. I decided against carrying the TRP. I'm going to OC the XD a couple of times and then officially organize the OC luncheon.
