Any Calgunners do the "Guard Card" Classes?

Went to a school meeting tonight for my son & daughters school and the topic of a armed guard on the school during school time. I was sitting at the table with the Principal and Super and told them I would be interested in doing it since I work from home and during the day I "roam" the internet

They said they could recommend me but I would need to get a "guard card" So I was wondering if there is any Calgunners that offered the certified training for a guard card.

I'm located in Fontana by the way so it would have to be something within 30 minutes or so from me.

You'll need a guard card and an exposed firearm permit if you wish to carry. Also you'll need to be on someone's payroll or hold a private patrol operator license if you want to provide security services. This isn't something you can do (legally) under the table.

The main problem during the classes is going to be trying to stay awake.

Don't worry about the qual, if you can keep 'em in a foot-wide group slow-fire at 15 yards, you'll be valedictorian.

Unless big changes are made to CA law , both bother. You can look up classes inline. Total cost will hit under $1,000 .

Just google BSIS or poke around the Cal DCA website. There are a number of places in the bay area where you can take the card class and the open cary class at the same time. The most expensive part IIRC is the livescan. Then again, I don't need the open cary addendum for my work, so I haven't done that part; but I've heard its pricy.

            Edit:
Mentioned the bay area as an example since there are NO ranges up here, as opposed to when I was in LA. So I'm sure there is some range/school around you that would be able to do the training.
