Range whor**...Are you one???

I've been known to take a gun to the range and never shoot it, but usually it doesn't even make it out of the case. Course this is only cause I bring so many with me I can't get to em all.

My PSL is a definite attention grabber, which bugs me, I just want to shoot the damn thing and I usually wind up wasting about an hour (through the day) just explaining to people what it is. I almost don't bother to take it to the range anymore.

Other than my PSL, FAL and Garand I don't have anything that really grabs comments. Most of my guns are ugly ducks that I bought on the cheap to use while going to gunsmithing school. They all look ugly, but all of em function at peak efficiency.

I used to bring out more than one, but now it's just one of 'em. I found I can't focus on getting better with a particular rifle if I shoot more than one in my collection a day. I do get questions and compliments for what I do bring when others are there, though. Next to last time out some guys shooting ARs thought my 1913 SMLE and its paper-punching ability was very cool.

Usually I'm the only one at the range, though. There are perks to living out in BFE.

I'd probably be the first to compliment anyone with a nice or rare firearm...but it Irks the hell out of me when people take up "shelf space" just so they can prop 2-3 of their rifles up for the world to see and they do not squeeze off one round. Thats like pulling up to the race track in a Ferrari with it on a trailer and not even racing or driving it...Yah, ok poser. These types of folks I do not speak to or care for. I go to the range to shoot, not for a gun show.

I don't even go to ranges. I like it to be nothing but me, a blanket, some cabbage patch dolls, and my XCR and XD40.

or a range officer . . . many weekends I'll bring my rifle to the range, set it up and then never get a chance to shoot it.

If you are shooting a model 19,27,28 25 625 Smith and people don't stop it just shows they don't know what they are looking at. Same for the P7M8

All of them get my attention.

I have brought upwards of 15-20 firearms to the range at once and shot at least a few rounds out of all of them.

When going to some old shoots with some calgunners and THR people I used to try to have a theme for the guns I brought, such as "9mm day", or Makarov day, once I brought 8 Makarovs!

That is not all that impressive as many Makarovs can be had for less than $300 but it was fun! Still got some reactions as well.

I just go up and litter the hillside with my 1919's bullets and watch the other shooters point and stare.

I usually just bring two or three at most to the range and shoot 100 - 200 rounds out of each gun. I hate lugging all that ammo around

I go to the range to shoot. But if someone is interested in my toys, I am only to happy to show them off and answer questions. If the person seems ginuine, I may offer to let him or her shoot a mag.
