I cant answer from 10%'s perspective but from the end buyer's perspective it was over a year. For reloading components it was almost 2 years.

Just wait until they start introducing bills and Joe Biden starts reporting his findings. I am predicting nothing will get through the House of Representatives. However, just like I predicted in the first four years Obama wouldn't go after guns, no one listens to me. The panic buying is in full swing.

I hope most of you have good stock piles and you laugh your way through this. But stuff just got real for those of you who didn't. Prices are going to go up quick. I am already heavily pressured to raise my prices.

I'm able to laugh it away, not missing out. But no, I don't agree it's 2008 again. Much worse. 2008 was just "possibility" - this time there is clear indication AW bans are coming, and likely soon. More like 1994 again. Or like 1999 again in CA. Also, I don't agree; this latest incident may sway a good deal of HOR legislators into supposed (erroneous) "common sense" bans, such as banning AR/AK and 10-rd plus mags.

Unreal - and dumb to rush now. I went to Turners Reseda at lunch to pick up one of their sale-items this week (which was NOT an AR/AK/HK or BB-required item) and the customers were roughly 75 people deep from the counter. I pulled a number; it was 57 - they were on #3 . I left after about 25 minutes. They were up to #5 as I left.

I took a few minutes to look at a couple of consignment items in the counter, and I overheard the guy on the phone answering a question saying:

"No, we don't sell Assault Rifles sir... yes sir... AR15 types, yes... what bullets do they shoot sir? You mean caliber? We have .223, .22LR, maybe some pistol calibers... no sir, can't put one on hold, they are flying off the shelf... yes sir, really."

(and the phone was ringing non-stop. He just stood there picking-up, answering questions, hanging-up, then having to pick-up immediately).

lol ... I remember driving all the way down to Taft (twice!) from Sacramento in March 2008 to buy a Saiga 223 from 10% ... wanted to be sure to beat the rush ... but I never thought it was going to be as bad as it was in 2008.

I agree with the OP that nothing will probably come of this except booming business for the firearms industry.

And really ... the only people who have an excuse for not having stuff on hand are those people who just turned 18 / 21 and couldn't easily buy what they wanted/needed.

I mean ... can anyone tell me that they are at all suprised that this day came again?

I remember the 99' ban, when Glock mags were $80-$100, used AR mags were $25-$30, and AR's were flying off the shelves. I turned 18 in 1998, so I bought a few before the rush. Then bought mags for all of the handguns I wanted for normal prices. A year later the prices skyrocketed. Still have my RAW's thank god, since I hate those silly bullet buttons.

Went to Sac Black Rifle the last few days and they had 200 Pmags left. They doubled their prices from $15 to $30 over the weekend. The guy told me they were selling between 600-800 mags a day and their distributor had 60,000 on Friday. They are currenly sold out. All reasonably priced black rifles were gone and there were only a few higher end ones left on the wall. Those were going too..

Fortunately, no panic buying for me because I have all of the guns, mags, and ammo I really want.

Two people called me today asking about different AR brands. One was indifferent to guns and the other was actually an anti. One used to say only "hunting" rifles should be legal.

Now one owns a handgun and is looking into a shotgun because he couldn't find an AR today. The other is not allowed to own guns because his wife hates them. He does sneak to the range with friends though.

This is like nothing I have seen in my 35 years. Even my mom wants a gun. Her 65 year old girlfriends have started talking about a range trip. I am going to get them in touch with a female NRA instructor.

This is absolutely crazy. From the irrational antis, to the "hunters" to the gun nuts. Everyone is talking. We need to get the undecided to see the light. Don't insult middle of the road or even rational antis. We need to preach the gun and freedom Gospel.
