    Why can't I stop?!??!

Before this year, the last gun I bought was almost 20 years ago. I didn't shoot very often the past 20 years and was perfectly happy with the 4 guns I had. Then all of a sudden this year, my brother and I decided to make regular range trips and then I went on a serious gun buying spree - 10 guns since April and I'm DROSing another tomorrow on my way to pick one up out of jail! Then there's the model 60 that doesn't get out of jail until next week - but this one is "for my wife"

In my defense, I did sell 3 of my original guns this year also.......

All I can say is thank goodness for PPT and an understanding wife!

Let's not even talk about all the ammo I've been hoarding .....

"What are we gonna do when you sell everything in our house to buy more guns and all the kids have to sit on is a rifle safe?", said my wife yesterday.
My resent excuses were, this ones off Roster, BO is gonna reinstate the AS ban, we need an extra AR for our son who's currently 4 years old because he'll need it during the future WROL. This ones a .22lr rifle you and the kids will love it and it's dirt cheap to shoot.... I can go on forever.

                  Because

You should have been buying 3 to 4 guns per year, so in the last 20 years you should have bought at least 60 guns.

You see, guns are tools and the truth is you can always find new tools you want

Here is how I see it.

You want at least 1 AR. Now due to the cost of shooting the AR, you probably should buy a 22 version.

Then of course there is the AK and then you need a 22 version of that.

Now of course we you may want something in the 308 range, so that is another rifle.

So now you have 5 rifles and that is just basic.

Now when it comes to handguns, you have to get at least 1 22 lr.
Then of course at least 1 full size 9mm.
Then you may want a 40 or 45 for defense.

Then of course you have to have at least 1 revolver in case you go out in the woods because you need a 44 magnum or bigger to deal with a bear.

See, now you have 4 handguns.

Then there are shotguns, you probably want at least 1 pump action, but what you really want is a Benelli M4 or a Saiga 12. You could easily have 2 shotguns at this point.

At this point, even a basic no frills tool set means you will have 10 plus guns.

                  Nicki

Well, with a a 20 year drought, you have some catching up to do! Don't stop till you're out of money or space.

I did a similar thing. Got out of guns and shooting when my daughter was born. Now, almost 20 years later, I'm trying to play catch up.

Similar, not training K9's as much and need an active activity. I tend to be an obsessive sort, would work dogs under any circumstances. 3am, pouring rain, even put on a wetsuit and take bites in the river. Couldn't do it enough. Almost 20 years. But it's falling off and I'm getting too old to get hammered by airborne 90 pound dogs with attitudes so after a long hiatus, got back into guns with a vengeance.
I'm embarrassed to say how many guns I've acquired over the last year but let's just say i need to sell some for what I still have coming (my wife got her HSC, God bless her, and a lot of PPT's but I'm still booked out until February) is going to max out my safe.
Fear of the libs has motivated me to a degree as well.
But I shoot at least 3 times a week and everything is Glock on up so I really can't lose much or in many cases, any money if I find myself in a hole.
The day I buy a second biga** safe is the day I know I'm out of control. Gotten pretty creative with the one I have, thankfully.

And whatever you do, don't start buying C&Rs. You know how easy it is to fill up your safe when all of your babies cost from $99.00 to around $500.00? I have it bad, 91/30, M44, Turkish Mauser, M1 Garand, K31, Russian SKS, all in the past few months. Did the AR thing early in the year, rifle, Title I Other and stripped lowers. Oh, yeah, and just got the trust and applied for the tax stamp for an AOW. And there was that CZ75 SP-01 that I had to have. And the Uzi. And the SR22.

                            Oh jeez, I need help.
