    Glock 18? Anyone fired one?

I'm looking to shoot a Glock 18 but apparently they are the sasquatch of the full-auto world. I flew over to AZ because a shop had said they had one but when we got there it was "down." I checked out a few other ranges and they all pretty much said "Good luck with that..."

Anyone know where I can simply put a few rounds down range?

    Vegas baby!
I fired one there. It was neat but has no purpose in the real world in my opinion. I will admit I'm picky though. I like to have a little say in the general direction my rounds are flying.

Take the two day Glock's Instructor Workshop. We had a great class and got to shoot the Glock 18.

I've shot the Glock 18, we were at Angeles, but I was with a movie armorer. Funny, we were shooting the Glock 18, M16s and full auto AKs and on the next range over was a training day for LA County Sheriff, they had MP5s and M16s, about fifty of them. Angeles sounded like a war zone that day!

None of the ranges I shoot full auto at in Az seem to have a Glock 18 that I have seen, they are kind of rare, I think because they are only post May, I don't think there are any transferable Glock 18s, they are too new.

Not the same thing, but somewhat similar...

I shot a Glock 17 with an autosear.

Several ranges that advirtise renting a Glock 18 are not really Glock 18s, but Glock 17s with an autosear.

There are no transferable Glock 18s, they are all post-'86 MGs.

It's easier for a FFL/SOT to make/obtain an aftermarket Glock autosear than to acquire a real Glock 18.

L & L Machine Guns in Tulsa, Oklahoma has a real Glock 18, and a large number of other full auto weapons, including a GE Minigun.

Scottsdale Gun Club was the shop that said they had one but in fact did not. I guess I'm going back to AZ for Sams Guns.

I heard the same scoop Quiet. Apparently some shops are able to get G18 "factory samples" I believe is what they called it but they aren't allowed to shoot them. I guess they're only there to showcase what they could order for certain agencies. Kind of ridiculous how hard they are to get ahold of.
A Glock 17 with the conversion would be fine by me. I just wanted to rent it for half hour or so to do some tests on a stock I recently patented. Full auto would eliminate some human error variables and it'd be fun as hell!

I watched Rob Leatham from about ten feet away at an RSR dealer shoot many years ago running a couple 33 rounders through an 18. Looked fun, but that was close enough for me. I think it was kind of dick move on the Glock reps part for bringing it out and only letting a couple people shoot it....

Shot one while I was in Savannah. I rented the glock and a Thompson. The glock climbed so bad I could only do 5 round bursts. The Thompson was so much fun I still had a smile on my face a week later.

The Glock requires some good technique and recoil control to keep it on target.

                              Glock 18

All Glock 18 are post sample guns.Only dealers can have them .Not private party sales .So the are very few. They where orignally made for cargo ship security forces. That is where the 33 round mags came from. Some guy in the late 80's out of Lousiana was converting Glock 17 into Glock 18 for sale to private parties.Very cool locking ,But that is it.very hard to control .The Beretta 93R is better. It has a pistol grip under the barrell that folds down.Like the one John Travolta used in the movie about the kidnapping of us nukes from a stealth bomber.cannot remember the name of the movie.
