What about the laser guided bullets that shoot around corners ? Will my flux capacitor generator still power the guidance systems ?Comment

Somehow I doubt my EoTech will be at the top of my list of things to worry about in the event of an EMP attack.sigpicComment

funny thing is if a dirty bomb is detonated most people will cry about their TVs, computers and games systems...even people in this thread.
It will end up being the largest sales gimmick in the history of walmart... think about it.
Walmart detonates an EMP over LA.... then weeks later, brings in truck loads of electronics all on sale...
My RDS is the last thing I will care about after an EMP.... and society isnt going away after it happens either....Comment

False.
Grounding a Faraday cage or not makes no difference for the objects that are shielded from the EMP within the box/cage, assuming the safe is indeed a completely shielded F box and not open in some way. What grounding does is lets the F box/cage drain any electricity that the cage might hold onto after such an event, like static electricity.Comment

The attachment on my A2 allows me to mount my Bushnell Micro Red Dot. In the case of failure (forget EMP), I can still use the irons with this setup as backup.

If you want an effective Faraday Box, simply take a cardboard box, put whatever electronics you want to protect inside, tape it closed, and then wrap it completely in several layers of aluminum foil. Seal all edges with Aluminum Tape. Then tape an exposed copper wire to the foil and ground the box either to a ground stake, or the electric ground wire in one of your house outlets.
Ferrous (Iron Based Metal) metal boxes are not considered to be the best for EMP protection. Non-Ferrous metals are best. Copper is excellent, but expensive. Aluminum is very good, and readily available.
Be sure you do not have so much as a single pinhole in the foil, as this will allow the EMP to penetrate and fry the electronics inside.
EMP attack is only one EMP threat. Naturally occuring solar flares, if they actually hit the earth cause a natural EMP. A strong enough natural EMP will fry the entire power grid. This actually happened in the late 1800s, and it fried the telegraph system over a large part of the country.Last edited by Decoligny; 11-21-2012, 8:03 AM.sigpic
If you haven't seen it with your own eyes,
or heard it with your own ears,
don't make it up with your small mind,
or spread it with your big mouth.Comment
