I don't buy guns I don't shoot. Normally I would urge you to shoot and enjoy it.

In this case since you have a pristine example of a 4 in. blued and you desire a 6 in. SS. Sell this one one and buy the one you want and shoo it.

You will get more for this one unfired and probably be able to get the 6 in. SS and have money left over.

Good advice. I once passed on buying a used Gibson Les Paul gold top guitar in pristine condition because I knew I'd never want to use it as a gigging guitar, which is what I needed. Sometimes it's best to leave the showpieces to others who will appreciate them untouched.

Tough decision. I'd go with why you bought it in the first place. Did you plan on shooting it when you were going through the process? Or were you planning on having a trophy and now you can't resist?

I was a great deal $$ on a great gun.. I couldn't pass it up. I'm not a gun collector ,but I do own several Colt's. I also intend on purchasing more guns (Colt's). I also now intend on keeping my Python. I guess My question to all of you is ....If this was your gun would YOU shoot it or keep it as is?

I only have two guns I don't shoot and that is because of age and condition, both were handed down from family. Everything else I have, I bought to shoot and enjoy, not as investments.

            We share an addiction.

I am no collector of pristine virgin guns but I would not shoot it. I'd buy another for that. And I'd keep that Python in the back of the safe knowing it was going up in value every day.

Unless you're buying it as an investment, shoot it. That's what guns are for, not for drooling over.

I would shoot it because I am not the type to buy a gun just to plan on selling it later, there are other investments for that. i buy guns because I love shooting, and a rare bad*** gun like that should be shot.

                              ><

It will only devalue that perticular Python by 12-1,400.....its your money, so its your choice.

I don't buy guns to look at or hope to increase in value some day, I buy them to shoot and enjoy. If you only care about the resell value, go buy a used one in a not so great condition and get it out of your system. As for resale, a non shot gun sounds a whole lot better than a almost new gun.
