Do people really wait to prepare for an earthquake until after the ground stops shaking and their house has fallen down around them? Apparently so.

alot of the 40 SW, 9mm, 223, and buckshots are all gone!!!!

Then buy from Turners, they had plenty of stuff on the shelves this past week.

SGAmmo.com has stuff in stock, just not in the 1-2 day turnaround that they are normally well known for.

        Carry on.

People don't learn. Wait one year. I got caught up in panic and paid $279 for a case of wolf 223 in December 2008. Fast forward to Jan 2010, that same case was selling for 189. Tula for a case was 179. I bought cheap and stacked deep that year. Let's say I'm good for years to come. Just ordered an upper from midwayusa, they still have cheap dpms uppers for $359. Watch those go in next few days.

If there is a shortage then I'll just shoot my .22s next year.

I tend to buy when I see a good price. Some stuff I have tons of. Other stuff is maybe a little harder to find and you can only get a little bit of it - they never have much in stock. This includes the ammo I use for USPSA competition. I have a decent supply laid in, but if they had even had a couple more cases the last time I bought, I would have bought more. They didn't.

Well, last week I got sort of lucky and sort of unlucky. It came back into stock a couple of days before the election. I decided as long as it stayed in stock I'd see who won. As the results came in the inventory approached zero so I got mine while there was still time. One other dealer still has some but it's $50/case more delivered.

not to point out the obvious but we're in a hobby that has a lot of tin foil hatters.

These people panic buy after an election, stores raise their prices in line with demand. Once the tinfoils have stocked up and the ammo stops flying off the shelves the price will come back down.

I have enough ammo on hand for a while but just in case i might by an MKIII to go with my 10/22 and just shoot those for a while.

.22lr is the first to fly off the shelves because of price and the inability to reload rimfire ammo.

Turners San Marcos was stocked yesterday noon. Business as usual as far as I could see. No sign of panic. Except for me. They have a SBH in .44 Magnum that... never mind...

I'm in the same boat - debating the panic-purchase of a Winchester 70 featherweight. Should I buy tonight, before the election induced insanity drains all gun store inventories...?
