This is exactly what I was thinking too. When I ordered my last 1911, the wife asked me how much it cost. After she put her eyes back in her head, she said "well you deserve it".

Ammo is a smart investment. Too much can be sold for 90-99% of cost the next day or at a profit months later. Money locked up in ammo keeps you from buying worthless stuff. Ammo keeps you safe. The newest shoes or purse wont do that.

I never regretted buying too much ammo. I have regretted not buying enough.

I don't expect anyone here to have to sneak ammo.

            Not even THIS guy.

I never sneak ammo or guns into the house. It is just coincidental that the wife is out the house when I happen to be bringing ammo/guns in.

Have never had a problem with my lovely lady, she actually understands that I save money when I buy in bulk. You shouldn't have to sneak stuff past your lady.

I bought an extra 2,000 rounds of 9mm and 1,000 rounds of .45 the other day. Bought some .357 mag ammo from another Calgunner and am picking up another 200 rounds of .223 Hornady TAP ammo. My wife helped me unload the ammo from the back of the car

She doesn't care about ammo or guns, but I've cut my gun spending way down over the last 10 years. Interesting how she doesn't care if I spend $1k on ammo, but if I want to buy another gun she asks if I really need another one. The thing is I can't look her in the face and tell her that I do "Need" another one

After reading all ofthe responses I am now considering hormone therapy.

My wife encourages me to shoot but being a single income home I feel guilty when I spend more than what I've budgeted.

You're not buying enough. If you get a case delivered to your door, she probably won't even bother to pick it up due to the weight. She'll just mention "UPS dropped off a box" and you're free to pile it on your stash

Sad part is it really wasn't that much!

In that case, wait 2 days and sell it right outside the range for inflated price.

Ammo is just like canned food, fresh water, gasoline, etc... It is a survival necessity. If she doesn't understand that then.... She has got to go... I kid. But seriously she should understand.
