Self Defense Scenario

Well, last night a friend asked me the question and the response I gave was, "I'm not sure you can." Looks like it was a stupid question to ask. Let's stop the flaming and let the thread die!!

Here is the scenario:

The neighbors are in an arguement and end up shooting at each other. The bullets go through the cheap thin walls and into your apartment.

You don't know what is going on, and all of a sudden bullets come flying into your apartment through the walls.

Can you fire back in self defense?

Please tell me you DONT own a gun. If you seriously have to ask a question like this, you are neither mature enough, nor smart enough to own a firearm. You should stick to Halo and call it a day. Once youve grown up, come back and talk to us then.
This is a perfect example of the stupidity Ive been talking about invading CalGuns.

You should have prefaced your question with this statement, because you didnt, it makes you look like you are seriously drowning in the gene pool. Common sense folks. . . some have it, some dont. I would avoid that "friend" at all costs. Stupidity rubs off you know.

I thought it would cut out some unnessary reading and go straight to the question, but I can see that was a bad idea.

I was having dinner with an old roommate of mine, and I told him what I was up to lately (building the collection). He said his apartment was shot at (he wasn't in there luckily) and asked the question. I only came up with "I don't think so" and wanted to better explain it with the law, but I didn't come up with anything. I was also a little weirded out by the question.

I would have ducked for cover and called the police. Now you see why I no longer live with him!
