    Gun Genie

I've been searching this forum and the internet as a whole and can't find the answer to my question about Gun Genie. I'm wanting to buy a Springfield XD 9mm and checked Gun Genie before going into my local gun shop, Markley's in Watsonville. The OTD price listed for Markley's on GG was about $150 less than Markley's and considerably cheaper than any other dealer in my area. This sounds too good to be true, but from everything I've seen on the internet GG is on the up and up. My biggest concern is with Markley's tacking on fees when I go to pick the gun up. I've had one good and one bad experience with Markley's, so I'm a bit leary of buying from them again. Anybody buy from GG through Markley's? Good or bad experience?

    Cheers!

I'm not a Markley's shopper, but here is what I do know about Davidson's Gallery of Guns (Gun Genie). The price is set. Davidson's is a warehouse who has a contract with the retailer and the prices are at a set markup. If you purchase through Davidson's, think of Markley's as the FFL who does the paperwork only.

Davidson's guns are still part of Davidson's inventory, while Markley store guns are already paid for by Markley.

The reason why Markley's prices at the store versus the Markley's prices via Davidson's are different is because the store prices have Markley's markup, not the agreed upon price with Davidson's. Hope that helps.

+1 on this advice. Gun Genie is the real deal. Davidson's is a MAJOR supplier to FFL's, so when your local store signs an agreement with them to participate in Gun Genie they are agreeing to the terms and fees in their contract with them.

Recently, I bought a Kahr PM9 this way. Local stores had it for $699. I paid $575 through Gun Genie.

Gun Genie will tell you exacly what your out the door costs will be. Really nice thing is that because they are in Prescott, AZ., the gun will show up at your local FFL long before the 10 day wait is up.

When it says "in stock", they mean in stock at Davidson's in AZ., not your local FFL. After you place the order, go to your local FFL with a copy of your receipt to settle up with them. My FFL was nice enough to call Davidson's while I was standing there to get the serial # of the pistol so they could start the DROS and 10 day right then, versus waiting till the gun showed up.

As long as they have the gun in their system Gun Genie is the cheapest way to buy a gun. The FFL I used is already very cheap, but they told me they charge 8% over cost if you walk in off the street and they have to order it for you. If you go through Gun Genie they have agreed to 5% with them.

BTW, its interesting to change the 25 mile search radius default out to 50 or so in order to get more hits. The prices for my Kahr were all over the board with quite a few of them wanting straight list price of $725.

I was shocked when I came across the little podunk pawn shop FFL that had signed up to sell it at $575. Transaction was very smooth though and the shop owner and staff were actually very professional and knowledgeable.

      Good luck!!!!!!

I had no problems when I used gun genie through Markleys for my PX4 storm. No extra or hidden fees. First gun purchase too. They where a little slow in the paperwork but other then that it was an good experience.

I used GG to buy a Glock 20 because I was tired of searching. After how easy it was to find, buy and pick up I have a feeling it will be how I buy some of my future guns as well...

Bought 6 from them so far. They're legit and the price they show is the price you pay. Depending on the time of day you buy it, my FFL has received the gun in 2 days. They also fax the serial number to the FFL as well. I love these guys.

Another nice feature of buying a Davidson's gun is they offer a lifetime warranty. My next piece will most likely be ordered from GG

WoW, wish Markley is down here. The prices are low, and their fees are also low.

Yea, GoG is good to go, online price quote is the exact amount you pay.

I've used GG 4 times and am currently waiting on something to show in stock so it can become my 5th. GG is good to go, the price you see is the price you pay, fees and taxes included. I was cautious the first time, but it feeds the disease better than LGS pricing.

I'm not sure i clearly understand. Some of you are saying that the price listed on gun genie is the exact price I would have to pay to my local lgs? No shipping or any other fees whatsoever? For example a cz 75 b is priced at 499.99 on gun genie, that's the total price I'd have to pay?

This is why I purchased my M&P9 from Davidson's.

Find what you want. Chose the firearm and select instant quote. you get a number of retail locations in your area with pricing. It says "your price", that is the price of the gun. Under that it says fees, then taxes, then the OTD price. That is, in fact, the price you will pay, fees and taxes included. You pay a deposit to davidsons online, then pay the rest at the LGS when you go to do the paperwork. Easy, simple, quick, cheap. Same guns you buy in the store, not factory seconds or anything, just an honest to god good deal for people. No hook, no gimmick, just a good deal. Buy with confidence.

The Price you see "total cost" is what you pay no more no less...

                              From the web site:
                              Pricing Description
                              YOUR PRICE:
Use this figure for comparing prices from other firearm websites. Like other’s pricing, this is the base sales price before shipping, taxes, and any other additional fees.

                              Fees:
This amount covers the dealer’s fees including their inbound freight from us, background check fees, etc. No additional “transfer fees” should apply.

                              Taxes:
                              Applicable local/state sales taxes.

                              Total:
This is the total of the deposit you will pay to GalleryofGuns.com and the balance you will pay to the dealer you chose upon pickup.

                              GOG Deposit:
This deposit starts the immediate processing of your selected item(s) for shipment to your selected GalleryofGuns.com local firearms dealer.

                              Due at Pickup:
The amount that you will pay to your local dealer when you pick up your order.
