Army here. Go out the gate and the Peltors stay on. They amplify the sounds around you but silence the gunshots. As for the unexpected bang bangs, ever since 1980 I have carried earplugs in a small canister on a left breast pocket button. Not so easy to do with the ACUs today.

      Yup.

The "Terrible T" as its called by those who suffer from it.

I use a combination of fan or radio noise, sleeping pills, and booze to get and stay asleep.

It isn't fun and anyone who risks their hearing without a damn good cause is an idiot.

My hearing is perfect, and I was in the Artillery. Rotating ear plugs AND when Peltors came out, the best. My wife and I still use Peltors today. When we go to Front Sight, people with amplified ears always seen to have problems, Peltors never fail us.

It's not the loss of hearing that's annoying (30 and 40% L and R) it's the constant high pitch squeal in both ears............ tinnitus.

Don't use ear protection and you too can have a brass band (playing a one note samba) 24/7.

I tried it once, never again. It was only a 9mm glock.

That said, outdoors I have no issues shooting .22s without hearing protection. But since usually I am shooting more than just .22s, I already have my earpro on.

Yup, officially jealous. My M&P wants a suppressor, but it can't because of the CA stamp on its side. No love.

There is no good reason to go deaf. I always double up with iside ear plugs and over ear Howard.huges muffs.

Even my klipsich s5i ear buds are n25 rated. I can comfortably listen to pandora with my ear muffs over while at the firing line.

eh i dont use it when hunting because i cant hear the wing beats of ducks or turkeys calling in the distance even with electronic ones. i do use them for target shooting etc though i really regret not wearing plugs today with some friends since my ears still ring a bit

I want to get a pair of surefire ear pros. Can hear soft casual sounds, block out all the bad loud noises. Discrete, comfortable from what I read.
