I do recall one order from NatchezSS, it was 1000 Federal XM193 bulk pack. They did not package it inside another box, they just slapped a UPS label and ORM-D sticker on it and let it ship.

Full markings, on the Federal box, of it's exact contents. This was March 2011.

Same here. Funny though, my UPS delivery guy never wants to stop and chat with me, he's out as fast as he can possibly be. The Postman on the other hand always wants to berate me that my mailbox is full, and he will stand there holding that 40 lb crate yelling at me for a good couple minutes to empty that mailbox! I guess I prefer UPS

But yeah, all the shipments always say SMALL ARMS CARTRIDGES on them, so they know whats in em.

Shippers now have the option of using this more discrete label...

...on ammunition shipments instead of using the ORM-D CARTRIDGES, SMALL ARMS label, but hardly any of them do. Either they are trying to use up their remaining ORM-D labels or they don't know about the change in the regs. Starting in 2014 the ORM-D stickers will no longer be allowed and shippers will be required to use the black and white diamond label.

            Mine always came like this.

Worst was waiting for shipment, heard truck come and go. Went out in a couple minutes and no ammo. Looked online and tracking said delivered. Called the shipper and they said call the seller. Just for grins, I looked on my neighbor's porch and there it was. In the original box as pictured. Glad I was home that day to snag it before he found it! No mystery what was in there.

They have always been good at being discreet. One little ORM-D sticker and that was it.

I ordered from Ammotogo.com and they put a 1000 round box of 5.56 in another slightly larger box that was plain with that blue sticker.

My only delivery options are to my work or to my leasing office. As you can imagine I would prefer not to have the whole guns debate in either or those locations.

I'm not even sure if its legal to ship ammo that way since they're technically explosives? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also if that type of shipping can't be done that would be good to know as well.

As someone said above, when you get the tracking info, tell UPS to hold it for pick up.

                      Answer: Precious metals

all these troubles go away when you treat your local FFL nicely. Then you can ship stuff to their place and pick it up from them.

...but if you are the guy who walks around the shop, comments on how cheaper it is to buy on-line and walks out...don't bother asking to ship stuff there.

Not the "go to place", but Cabellas also ships very discretely.

Like others mentioned, the most discrete thing is to pickup at the UPS station.
