The Glock fanboi aspect aside, since it's a Glock, it's not a collectible and the round count (0 vs. a few at the range) won't make a difference with this gun.

Yeah, Glocks are supposed to shoot all the time, but how is the buyer to know something hasn't been done to this to alter it and not fire as it should? Sure, buy my used car, but I won't let you take it for a test drive (trust me, it's a fine car). Yeah.

If anything, a commodity gun such as a Glock ABSOLUTELY should be tested and if the seller continues to decline someone testing a gun of this caliber (pun intended), that raises a yellow/red flag in my book and that's a gun that will be harder to sell IMO.

What I find is funny, is a person who buys a gun only to never shoot it.... That is just my strange sense of humor though

If this was a collectible or rare gun (and we all have our own definition of each, both of which I'd struggle to apply to a almost all Glocks), I would completely agree with the OP.

Aren't Glocks shot at the factory?
OP says HE never shot it, was he the original owner?
Is the gun a collectible with seal in-tact, proving it was never shot?

An aside, can ANYONE tell me what gun is worth more being unfired than having been fired a few times and properly cleaned afterwards? I didn't know virginity in firearms meant much.

Lastly, if I want to sell a gun and a buyer insists on shooting it, then the buyer should cover all range fees.

I've sold a number of used and unused guns from my collection and never did any serious buyer ever want to "take a test drive". I have also purchased quite a few used guns from here and never made that request either. I wouldn't mind a field strip however...

While trusting a PPT sale is hard, few stores that sell used firearms allow you to fire the gun before dropping non-refundable cash first.

This goes right back to the Burbank Ed Brown 1911 thread. The OP wanted to play with the firearm before committing to buy it...the store wasn't willing to allow that on a $3,000 firearm.

This OP is saying he isn't willing to allow a person to play with his firearm without committing to buy it.

and I would also laugh if a buyer told me they wanted to test fire a brand new Glock before buying it....

I sold a 1969 Coronet. It was in good running condition with minor work left to be done. Every person who "test drove" it beat the crap out of it. I had to end a test drive twice by ordering the driver to pull over. None of the "test drivers" bought the car (and there were over a dozen). I sold it over the phone to a guy for more then I asked when he found out I had another buyer coming by in a few hours.

Glocknade joke? Glocknade joke. Sounds like OP sold some poor sap a M67 frag grenade. I wouldn't want to try that out at the range.
