POLL: Frog Lube, yes or no?

For those who don't know, it's being heavily pushed at gun shows and is supposedly the best thing since sliced bread. It is a CLP (Cleaner, Lubricant, Protectant) based on food grade ingredients.

    Commercial website:

So here's a calguns poll to determine the truth about it.

    Excellent, best CLP out there!

FYI, here is one of the products that is supposedly the same, that is a spinoff from the NASA track lube products, and is much cheaper:

I bought the deluxe pack that comes with a applicator brush, microfiber cloth, paste, and liquid CLP. I haven't used it yet, but it wasn't SOOO expensive that I wouldn't give it a try. I normally use OTIS CLP or REMOIL. From what I have heard Frog Lube is AMAZING!!!

It's worked well for me so far but honestly I don't think I push my guns to the point where I would notice a difference in lubricants.

            Smells good too

I bought some for my Sig. Its the only stuff I have used for the gun since I purchased it. Seems to work great. Havnt had any problems yet. Figured ill pay the extra price since I paid too much for the firearm anyway. HA. The smell of your gun coming out of the case is totally worth the extra price. Just saying.

Freshens up your breath quite nicely. Doesn't taste too bad.

                        Hello,

I am in the process of testing a bunch of different CLPs. The one I'm most impressed with will be for sale on my website. This will take a while, of course.

Right now I'm on WeaponShield, using it on my 1911. I'm VERY impressed with it.

Next up is Frog Lube. The only thing I do not like about it is that I'll have to strip all the petroleum products from whatever firearm I intend to use it on.

The base product all this is being compared to is Hoppe's #9.

I love Frog Lube. It has been nothing short of miraculous on all of my guns. Cleaning is now simple and easy and I rarely have to scrub anything anymore. Even feed ramps with a coating of gunk come clean pretty easily.

                          Highly recommended.

The guys over at ar-15 did some of their own tests and it appears that FL is nothing more than snake oil. I've bought a small amount to check it out and it's was decent at best. Super Lube is tremendously better. it costs cheaper in regard of being a lubricant, is just as organic as FL (less the mint smell), wont freeze, and has a higher threshold for heat.
