Well, the masses don't matter much. We're just disposable fodder.

Now if a LEO or public official or celebrity is killed, oh, the outrage, the barbarity, the insuing manhunt but if John Q public gets plugged, well, it's a tradegy, he'll be missed, sorry to hear about that.

Besides, you start spending money or the public and you'll have nothing left for pork barrel projects, kickbacks and voting yourself higher pay along with nice pensions

      Another gun free zone ...
Some will dispute this, but that is entirely why schools, universities, and shopping malls are so attractive to a homicidal shooter. There are hundreds of possible victims and by the regulation and prohibition of weapons- (firearms in particular) the administration of those facilities encourage rampant carnage.

I have written my State Assemblyman in this regard and urged them to forward legislation to make it possible to hold these administration entities liable for the losses when they establish gun free zones and do not provide adequate security and safety to ensure their property actually is 'gun free'.

If you are going to disarm me, then you're going to take the bullet for me.

These victims need to attack the policies that make it possible for homicidal shooters to do their deed. I hope 'concealed campus' takes this up and runs with it.

Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim -- when he defends himself -- as a criminal. Bastiat

Why do they keep killing people with "gun-free zones?"

It must be those evil assault weapons that can now be sold...oh wait the dirtbag didn't use one.

The sad thing is that there are thousands of murders every year in big cities across the nation. Even though a large number are crackhead on crackhead crimes there are innocents that get harmed. I would even guess that more innocents die from violent criminals every year in a big city than in any "school shooting".

The media can rile people up about the very rare in school crimes, but we never hear how the place is usually a "gun free zone". We never hear over and over from them how much of a failure every anti-gun big city utopia is. Look at Washington DC as an example.

I'm preaching to the choir, but the bottom line is that "school shootings" are rare, murders by violent criminals not so much. That won't stop the victim disarmers like the brady campaign from shamelessly using this to push their agenda.

Nope, ain't gonna happen. Pelosi, Reid et al have learned their lessons well. They'll keep their and all the anti Dems' lips sealed until after the Nov elections. Then, once they've won as many seats as they can (and, they hope, the White House), they'll let loose w/their best shots, after factoring in the then new SCOTUS Heller decision.

The antis, and here I'm primarily focusing on the anti Dems and not the anti Repubs (yes, there are some), have become a lot more sophisticated over the past decade. Fortunately, we too have become a lot more sophisticated, but even more important, we've become a lot more organized and unified thanks to the internet.

Frankly, I would prefer if the antis come out and make guns an issue right now, before the elections and even before the conventions, so that we have time to inform each other of the candidates' true colors.

No i havent although im a fan of Family Guy. I mean it just pisses me off that stuff like this happens. It puts a bad name for gun owners imo because it allows democraps to go about and use these school shootings to strangle the hold on gun control.

Campus Police Chief Donald Grady said investigators recovered 48 shell casings and six shotgun shells following the attack in Cole Hall.- Yahoo news

If carrying concealed weapons was legal, they would have only found 11 shells... one from this *****hole, and 10 from my HK USP 45.

Sounds like the guy had a history of mental illness, yet the media headline reads "guns purchased legally".
I do not provide legal services or practice law (yet).

                            What's happened to our society?

Yes the shooting is sickening... apparently the shooter dirtbag was "off of his medications" and had been "acting erratically". Already the excuses are coming out for why he shouldn't be held responsible for this atrocity.

No matter what the anti gun crowd wants to believe, it is NOT the role of government to control what people do... that is why we live in a country founded on personal freedom. We have laws in place that regulate who can get a gun and if you violate the laws there are penalties in place to address that. Unfortunately, these mass murdering shooters are too cowardly to stick around and face the punishment so they blow their own brains out to escape. Is it still a tragedy? Of course. Is it a bigger tragedy that the anti's create these "shooting fish in a barrel" gun free zones? IMHO it is.

But what is even more disturbing to me are the newspaper photos from the scene as the medics are wheeling out the wounded and other students are standing there with their CELL PHONES snapping pictures and/or video of the wounded! Have we lost every last shred of our collective humanity? What the HELL is wrong with people???

                            Disgusted....
You say "gun nut" like it's a bad thing

My mom grew up in DeKalb. We have friends at the Uni in staff.
I was visiting relatives in Champaign over Christmas one year and I walked into a sporting goods store to kill some time. They wouldn't even let me touch a handgun without some kind of state issued safety certificate. I was surprised the even let me view it from outside the glass case.
