What are their 'ammo prices like, for 5.56/.223?

i have found their ammo prices to be excessive. when ammo goes on sale at Big 5, it is not a screamin deal.

bought a couple guns from big5 never had any bad experiences! i guess its because theyre more sales driven than some ego fud bearing narcissists gun store owners who ride in on their high horse and belittles everyone in front of them.

that said there are plenty of great gun store guys out there too but it amazes me that big 5 can provide cool deals with some friendly service

Agreed, that's why I insist on dealing with just one person at Turner's. Everyone else has been very cool though...

Went by the Alameda Big 5 yesterday, it had been a while since I'd been in. They've got the Mossberg 500 12 ga 2-bbl combo on sale for $309.49. I did the math - 1 DROS for 2 long guns, plus 9.00% tax, and you're out the door with TWO 500's for $699.68. That's a lot of firepower for not very much money.

Depends on the store. A couple I go to are OK. The one across from SoCal Guns can lick my spheres...
