About as far from Hello Kitty as possible

The idea for this gun came out of a discussion in the tread about tattoos. I have a friend who has a wicked Alien tattoo and someone thought it would be cool to have a Geigeresque gun... so I started playing around in photoshop. The idea is to come up with something that could actually be built an not interfere with the function and safety of the weapon.

The tattoo that stated the whole thing was this:


Here is just a teaser of what part of the gun may look like:


All that is roughed in here is the foreword handguard. I still am going to play with the barrel extending form the mouth as well as all sorts of other goodies on the receiver, grip and magazine. I also want to see if I can figure out a way to make a face-hugger into the check-rest on the stock with the gun's sling being the tail of the face-hugger.

Something tells me I may be having some petty wild dreams after drawing this up!

BTW: The title was not meant to bash the Hello Kitty Rifle... I love that rifle!! The 'far away as possible' comment had to do with 'same type of concept... just on the far side of the spectrum of possibilities'... cute pink kitten vs black brain eating alien.

That would be reaallly cool but you have to use the brake that has those shark teeth on them and a higher red dot mount.

my oppinion is that in order to have a sucessful themed gun it has to be subtle influence, or complete transformation. youd need a flash hider that looked like a mini alien toung. your deed the magazine to have veins and other ribbibg like a geiger painting. the stock would have to be a twisted glossy( slimy looking) alien tail.

but then at that point its not easily identified as a gun and that can cause problems.

i say stick to a repaint. the alien head is too much. it isnt astetically pleasing to me.

I like where SLO is going with this. A medieval brake or FH that looked like the alien tongue would be a wonderful addition, but even just as is in your mockup it's very cool.

This was just a quick first pass/tease with just the handguard roughed in. There is of course the rest of gun that needs to be done (i.e. the 'brain crushing' secondary mouth and all the biomechanical goodies elsewhere)

As for the whole thing looking like a dildo... that pretty much sums up Geiger! Just take a look at the Alien the 'face-hugger'? (not to mention his paintings!!!!)
... no sexual innuendoes here.

If this thing looks like a giant dildo then that means I'm actually hitting close to what it's supposed to look like. (not that i'm in to big dildos, but that really is all the Alien is!) Besides, don't people keep telling us that all our guns are just extensions of our penises?? (not attempting to be crude here... just stating the facts)

The only thing that bothers me about the current concept is that it's pretty 'obvious'... barrel coming out of the Alien's mouth... I would probably be happier if it were all more abstract and not necessarily the first idea that pops into your head when your here the words 'Geiger-Alien-Rifle'. But then again, this is actually the first time I've ever tried to imitate Geiger's style.

Like I said, this is a first pass and while I am keeping functionality and whatever legal issues there may be "in the back of my mind", they are not primary concerns just yet. Just having fun now... but if I come up with a design that I actually like, then it could end up being cleaned up and made functional as a real gun.

I am also sure that there are some firearm purists (setting aside any legal issues) that would consider something like this as a blasphemous abomination to do this to a rifle.

All I have to say to that is, I have my "Practical firearms", my "Impractical firearms", "Historical firearms" and some 'WTF... let's have some fun firearms"... if this ever gets built, it would definitely fall into the latter category.

seems like you'd need some pretty leet moulding skills to pull that kind of build off. I get the concept and i bet it could be really cool if executed well.

but do you realy want to trick your firerarm out to be a cartoon or movie theme

to me an aliens gun would be the same as the hello kitty

its a theme decorated firearm

its almost like the trubute decorated firearms 50 states ,john wayne ,various ex-presidents,

sure i'd love a lego theme with teh handguards covered in lego studs maybe have the rear stock look like technic(in fact the holey olympic 223 pistol was pretty close a bit of red yellow and blue and it would look like a lego creation
