Oregon is nice, and interestingly enough, I'm going there in 9 days to apply for a job.

Sure, Portland and some other areas are Liberal, but you can still get a CCW permit and carry in Portland. You can still own NFA items, and while the car registration isn't as cheap as say Arizona, $54 a year is not bad. Only a couple cities have smog requirements (not a statewide issue), and there's no state sales tax.

Oh, and the roads! 100% better than California roads. Amazing how a state that gets snow and has all kinds of weird vehicles driving on the roads can maintain their roads so much better than California.

The state is also very beautiful. We (wife and I) love the Southern part of Oregon, particularly the Grants Pass area.

That all sounds fine and good but wait until you try to pump gas into your car.... the self-serve gas police come out of nowhere and then you are looking at doing hard time. Its just not worth it man.

When it's snowing outside, you really don't mind not having to pump your own gas.
