CALLING ALL BAY AREA CALGUNNER'S -input needed-

Hey all,
I'm looking into shopping at a different gun shop, and I've been hearing good things about the bay area gun vault. Can anyone give me their experiences from that place? I've been there a handful of times and liked the feel and selection of the shop, but I just wanted to see what kind of experiences people have had their. Any input is much appreciated

They're okay. I don't go there that often because it's quite far. I think their stuff is a little overpriced so I mostly go for transfers.

But I think "all" gun shops in CA are more expensive than where I moved from in PA, by about 30% higher. Or more

Great folks and customer service at the Gun Vault. Prices are higher than average though.

I got my HSC there. They're cool from the times i've been there. Nice selection of guns, kinda small place. I was looking to buy a kimber custom II there. It was priced around $870? I called Reed's in Santa Clara and they sold me their Kimber Custom II for $765? So I got it from Reed's.

Nice, clean, quaint, higher priced (as compared to TM in Milpitas) shop with knowledgeable (for the most part, depending on which clerk) staff. They have a little bit of everything and a very nice selection of long guns. Usually a lot of nicer 1911s as well.

Bit of sticklers on PPT/locks though (or at least they were). Did a double PPT there last year and only brought one lock with the intent of picking up one gun, taking it out to the car and doing the same with the second gun...after all, they were technically separate DROS at different times (20-30 minutes apart), so why couldn't I opt to pick them up individually? It was technically legal, but they still made me buy one of their non-returnable $4 DAC locks for $11 ($10+tax). That left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. They also were the ONLY shop that made me open the lock and actually put it on the gun (pc says gun must leave with a lock, doesn't say the lock must be on the gun), so it comes down to who's interpreting/applying the "rules" for you.

OP, Gun Vault is overpriced, great people, selection are awesome. Like mentioned above, I usually shop there when I need it now but if you can wait and shop around you can buy firearms,parts, and accessories elsewhere for much cheaper. Cheers!

I've purchased five guns from them, and yes, they were bit higher, but their customer service is great and they'll usually do something like give you a decent discount on ammo for whatever you're buying.

Overpriced... I've never bought from there because of that. There's others around that area with better prices.

But... If they've got it and no one else does and you can't wait then buy it.

The best gun shop in the Bay Area is Valkyrie Arms in my opinion.

The only problem is that right now they are completely out of guns. People came and bought out their entire stock.

Seriously, I was there yesterday and it looked like they had been picked clean.

I just got a gun at BAGV and had a really good experience - friendly folks, very helpful even though they were busy both when I went to buy and when I went to pick up.

I have had nothing but great service there.

I got my Ed Brown SF there. My dad pick up 2 PC S&Ws, and my mom wanted to get her 22 there because of how well they treated her to the other places we had gone in the area.

We have also had great service and purchased guns from Reeds and Eddy's Shooting Sports.

Here in the east bay, City Arms -East in Pleasant Hill and Canyon Sports in Martinez are my two favorite stores.

Triple A's Sporting Goods in Vallejo is my favorite, and they are mid-way between San Jose and Davis.
