i was a sucker some years back, all i got was a trashcan full of "letters" wanting more and more money from me.

the nra is only intersted in getting more and more money for there fact finding trips.

show me any anti gun law the nra was the point man in getting it removed from the law books.

Let me point you over to the 2A forum.

That section of the forum should be the first one you read every day that you log onto Calguns (my own opinion on that one). It's the single most important reason for CG to exist (again, my own opinion, maybe Kes will chime in and either confirm that or shoot me down.)

Then let me say Proposition H in San Francisco pops right into my head. SF passed a referendum banning handgun possession by residents (along with ammo restrictions and some other crap), NRA immediately filed suit and had it tossed... not just the handgun ban, but the whole law.

Calguns has been on point in the 2A fight in CA for a few years now. NRA has worked closely with us in that fight, aiding us and helping direct our vast numbers (muhahahahaha - sorry, just have to have an evil laugh there for the numbers).

Fact: Calguns has killed off several bad bills with letters and phone calls. Last year wasn't as good a year as it should have been, thanks to other "gun rights" groups getting the governor upset. NRA and Calguns had Microstamping and the Lead Ban killed. The veto was a slam dunk.

Fact: NRA is the only gun rights org to have active support on Calguns. Still waiting to hear from the others.

Fact: I've seen folks who draw paychecks from Cal NRA at Calguns events. They're here, they're helping, and they do care.

NRA doesn't send me a ton of stuff asking for money. They do send a little bit, and I'd send more money if I had it. All in all, NRA is honestly our best friend here in CA. They've helped us a lot more than any other group I can think of.

I had to ask. I have been asking people that i know that own guns and a lot of them are not members to my dismay. To me that makes know sense. if you enjoy owning guns and believe in the 2nd. amend. and want to keep it that way become a member. The N.R.A. is one of the few that are on our side.

I'm sorry for putting this post in the wrong forum

Member! pick a side baby. All organizations that get large have their drawbacks, but I tell me who else is fighting 2A issues with the clout that the NRA has.

An organization is only as good as the grass roots that it has. The NRA will help if we are out there. We have to get involved or it can't do anything. If nothing is getting done, what are you doing?

What!? No Calguns.net hat!? For shame!

I put my NRA sticker on the back of my motorcycle helmet. It gives socialists something to aim at.
