I just stare at the tank full of bass and try to figure out how to drop a line in without getting caught. I actually try to buy from the smaller shops as well if possible.

I just went for the first time a few weeks ago while in Dallas....by far the best "outdoors" shop around. Next trip out I'm going to stop by Cabelas to see how they compare.

Elite tactical is located1 minute from bass pro and they'll bend over backwards to make you feel welcomed.

I don't know what you guys are talking about taking 2 hours to buy a gun. I went to Bass Pro in Rancho Cucamonga and it only took me 3 hours and 15 minutes from when I took my number until I walked out with a receipt for a rifle.

I've been to a Bass Pro Shop once and will never go back. I was dragged along while my father-in-law shopped for fishing gear.

I figured that while there I'd look for ammo. I inquired about 5.45x39, 7.62x39, and 7.62x54r. They didn't carry any of them. The sales rep told me that those calibers are "junk" and "dangerous to shoot" In fact, I don't think I saw a single brand of ammo there that wasn't Winchester or Remington. The prices were horrendous too. My brother-in-law was going to get some 9mm till here looked at the price tag. I didn't see any worthwhile accessories available either.

Edit: And ya, it took me about thirty minutes just to grab someone to ask about the ammo.
