So you leave the gun range....

or a gun shop with your firearms, and lets say that you notice a suspicious car following you longer than usual....

I suppose the correct thing to do is not to go straight home, go somewhere else and call 911? But that would bring LEO all over while you're transporting guns, and I know alot aren't AR friendly.

This hasn't happened to me, but I would like to know what you would all do.

If a suspicious car is following you, and you have a legitimate concern for your safety and well being, call the police and state your concerns, the fact that there is a firearm being transported in your car should not even play into it, that is information that is not even necessary to relay to the police, the immediate threat is.

Regardless, if you throw a few crazy Ivan maneuvers in while driving home, it will confirm one way or another if you are being followed, and if you can confirm this, just drive to a police station....... Problem solved.

Make sure my carry piece is loaded and cocked then try to lose the tail. I definitely would proceed to my home. Drive to the nearest Police station. If you're transporting legally, I see no problem with that. Give PD description of car and occupants and license plate number if you can get it.

you can not transport a firearm loaded and cocked that is illegal. Stay in your car and drive make several random public stops just as gas stations or banks where they usually have video cams.

...unless you have a concealed carry permit, of course. :-)

I agree with the above advice - if your Spidey Sense is tingling, trust it. Go someplace public that isn't your house and call 9-1-1 from your cell phone. Lock your doors.

I've found (from unpleasant experience) that executing four right turns in a row is a good way to find out if someone is following me. I'd be inclined to call 9-1-1 via speakerphone rather than drive to the police station, though, if I thought it safe to do so - cops might be able to get behind the bad guy and effect a stop, whereas once he figures out where I'm headed he's apt to bolt.

Sounds as if Garage has a LTC. If that's the case, he'd be good to go. I do the same every day I leave the house.

I'm pretty sure i've scared somebody that lived down the street...as luck would have it we entered the freeway at the same time some 20 or so miles from the offramp we were both headed to. On top of that the person must have lived a couple of streets over because I was behind them up to the very last minute, another 2-3 miles from the offramp. I was behind them the entire time and I could see the driver checking if I was still back there.

I was driving home on afternoon when I changed lanes and passed a car full of guys. For some reason that pissed them off, because they stated following me, honking and motioning for me to pull over and what not. Instead of calling the police, I called a group of my friends who were out on private land shooting their AR's. Had them call the cops out to the property and wait for me to pull up (this was Tulare county, the cops didn't have much to do, so they dispatched 4 cars. As I pull into the property, one cop gets behind the guys and turns on his lights, while the 3 others came from the front, full felony car stop, guns drawn, the whole 9 yards. Turns out the car was full of 16-18 year old wannabe gangbangers who wanted to "teach me some respect". My friends and I had a good laugh over it, but the cops said it was smart that I brought them to a place where they could be blocked in

I say be sure the car really is following you first, make three right turns, if the car is still on you then it's pretty likely you have a tail. And yes I watch best defense :P

I have yet to find and the few county court records I have searched an arrest and prosecution of a legal AR. I call BS.

3 left turns at different times

                          OR

a short hop onto the freeway, and exit the next exit, then go the opposite way on the same freeway

                          still following, call 911

I once left the range and was followed...I went to the nearest police department, pulled in the parking lot and they left.

This is the reason i always leave my HD mag loaded in the car on the way home from the range. should i feel my life in danger i can take action if i cant shake my tail.
