The good news is in walks another guy! He is putting down $50 on a S&W Sigma and taking his HSC test. I guess I am really just trying to avoid digging a hole in my backyard to fix a pool leak. I closed an hour and 50 minutes ago!

Does it require the receiver have a HSC
How does a person under 21 obtain an HSC in order to legally receive an intra transfer of handgun
Seems some stores won't even allow the test to be taken since 'the person can't own a handgun anyway' (their response not mine)
Trying to figure how to overcome that one, I'm afraid by the time I figure it out, the receiver will be 21 though

as long as he is at least 18, he can legallly obtain an HSC. Now, geting the HSC instructor to allow him to take the test is another thing.

All you can do is print out the PC that shows that you have to be 18 to get an HSC and show it to the store and maybe they'll let you take the test.

And Wes is one of the FFLs who knows the law and will actually let 18 year olds take the HSC test. Some won't even let you take it if you show them the PC because they won't be able to make a sale out of it.

This Customer Service reminded me of an in incident years ago at a local indoor range

One of the employees was installing trinicon sights on my glock
He was adding locktite to the screw on the front sight when two urban guys ame off the range

The urban guy said hey if your oiling his gun, oil mine too

The employee said certainly sir and then covered all of the rails and internals with red locktite, covered the mag, mag release, hammer and then ran the slide 5-6 times and dropped the hammer.

When the hood rats left we both burst out laughing

Seeing as how probably 99% of the 18-20 year olds who take the HSC test are about to receive free handguns from their parents or grandparents, I doubt they'd care much right then about having to wait a few years to buy their own.
