The shop closes at 2 PM. 2 PM people. Not 3 PM. So I am finishing some trigger upgrades, shipping some Monsterman Wood AK47s grips, and getting a deposit ready for tomorrow and like a moron I leave the front door open. For some reason everyone keeps coming in and spending a buck or two, but mainly wasting my time with Hunting licenses, questions, and what not.

Well a new guy to the area and his wife are in and at like 3:05 PM and I was answering their questions, a full hour after closing, in walk two guys holding plastic Smith & Wesson pistol cases.

Sure enough, these yahoos want to do a trade and want to PPT. I give them this WTF look knowing what is about to transpire, but I ask for their ID. Thankfully I didn't even have to send them to Big 5 to try it as I asked, "Aren't you guys father and son?"

I printed out the intrafamilial transfer forms and tried to get them the hell out of the store before a paying customer came in, but they insisted on buying a gun case and signing up for the local sportsmen's club while they were in.

Seriously, when will people start to understand gun stores don't want to be bothered with PPTs. Sheesh.

Sounds as though if it weren't for customers you'd be in a pretty good business.

Giving a HSC test after hours? What do you think you're doing? Shops make almost nothing on HSC tests in the first place. They're a bigger waste of shop time and funds than PPTs are. You should be more like all the respectable LGSs and tell your customers to go to another shop to take the test. Your small town business sense isn't going to get you far in the real business world.
