i would never marry a girl that would make me get rid of my guns. one of my questions when dating is what do you think of firearms and shooting sports. if they dont like it, i end the date right there.

I'm married and my wife not only supports my love of guns, she developed her own attachment and has her own!

Bottom line, this wuss was just looking for his 15 minutes of fame and got it. Sadly, I don't think he's getting the attention he was originally hoping for as most of us knuckle-dragging, man card owning neanderthals are laughing our asses off at him!

I actually thought the article was pretty funny. As crazy as it might sound, we need more people like him to get into guns. You know, the moderates who aren't gun enthusiasts or who don't go onto internet gun forums, but aren't anti-gun and want to learn how to shoot and even own some.

Much better to read about some guy who wants to get into guns than some Brady campaigner trying to take them away.

One of my fellow coworkers could not get a gun because the wife said no...

So, a few weeks later a buddy of his started banging on the front door at 3am! Yelled a few things and banged on the front door some more.

Scared the **** out of his wife.

He went to the gun store the next day.

Considering my observations and experiences, there are two kinds of people in this world;those who have guns, and those who will sorely wish they did.

As far as controlling wives go that's an utter crapshoot to predict. The dating scene in 2012 can be distilled into two words : "Assume Nothing".

Women initially support their man's hobby with the goal of convincing him to commit.Once the ring comes out its like an undercover cop breaking out the badge and gun;bye bye sexy minx. Hello rules, regulations, and emotional blackmail. A man who's hit with the "badge and gun" treatment by his new wife is in a major dilemma in terms of disagreements.

"Being A Man" can entail the following negative consequences.

Cupcake files a bogus TRO , so that precious gun gets seized anyway.
Divorce is initiated, which deprives the man of half his assets.
Pursuant to divorce, the kids will be separated from the father.
Alimony & child support bills combine to ensure our "Macho Man" never buys another nice gun again.

That's a lot of bad things to risk over one piece of property, especially if you live where CCW approval percentages are on the right side of the decimal point. Im not married, but I won't judge a man who has a harridan of a wife and has the future of his kids to consider in the balance.I won't run the gauntlet by getting married to begin with, but that's merely my personal choice.

Edit:The linked story is written from New Jersey. In order to acquire a permit to purchase a handgun in that state, one must submit to an invasive paper-based background check process which takes months to complete by a NJ police detective, and the documentation required demands every form of reference on the applicant including employer references, personal references, and spousal permission. Thankfully this isn't the case in California or in many other states that I am aware of, but in NJ an anti-gun wife literally has the legal authority to veto a husbands gun purchase.

That *man* faills at being a man. Can anyone say, pu**y-whipped like a little b**ch?

The wife is the man of the house of that marriage, clearly. And I'm not just saying that because she prevents him from exercising the 2nd.

I have to ask my wife every month if I can buy a new gun. She always says "NO". Then I drive down the street to my LGS. Pick out a new gun. Wait my 10 days. Bring it home and show the wife my new gun. Bought 9 guns in the last 10 months and now she shoots with me. She also has her own 1911 and a XD 9mm.
