    Did I make a mistake?

I purchased a Colt SP6920-mg about 2 months back...and yes it was quite a bit of money since I was 18 at the time...I guess this whole talk of "evil features" scares me a little

I went with the Colt because my father told me (who is in law enforcement and lucky enough to have those 'evil features') that some agencies only allow certain companies to make the AR's that are issued

if that doesnt make since let me know

Colt is one of the best AR manufacturers, so I'd say you made a good choice.

They make M4s for our military. The gun you purchased is basically the same as those, except for a slightly longer barrel and different stock/pistol grip/hand guard.

I would agree and quite happy with my purchase just the idea of SB249 and all that scares me and makes me wonder if i should sell and buy a Remington versamax

dont be scared by all of the SB249 FUD. They can't legally take your gun, and if they do outlaw BB's, go featureless and enjoy a lovely BB free mag release.
My AR is 7.62x39, so that if/when we get invaded, I can shoot their ammo back at them!

Yeah but I dont want to go featureless, I want to be able to wrap my thump around my grip (how sad that just wrapping ur finger around the grip is a 'evil feature')

Go with a Hammer head grip then

Personally, I think it looks a little weird, but, I have heard from users that it is a very comfortable grip... which is more important than looks in my book

Don't let sb249 scare you. In it's current wording, even if passed, it wouldn't make bullet buttoned ARs illegal.

I am getting a nikon p223 3x32, so wouldnt a stock so low like that make it hard to get my eye up to the level of the scope?

Still got the buffer tube. If that is too low I'm sure there is an adjustable cheek piece out there for it

I actually like the third picture a lot, now I have a notch in my barrel (for grenade launcher) and I think a bayonet lug would I have to get rid of those as well

You can't have a grenade/flare launcher on your gun without a bullet button. A bayonet lug or even a bayonet are not evil features according to CA, so for those no BB is required.

Even if it did pass, wouldn't all the AR's on the market be grandfathered in???

I'm soo confused by this bill now...

                              Under SB249, no "grandfathering".
If it's illegal, it's subject to confiscation without compensation.
