there are guns that have long been on my short list; those guns include ones that are no longer manufactured, and ones that are older variants of current production guns.
today... the gun that i'd have the most difficulty walking away from is one that would be a replacement for one that i previously owned. it would be hard to walk away from an early lnib w german Sig Sauer P228.Comment

I spoke to an older gentleman the other day who, coincidentally, mentioned that in the early 1970's when he started collecting guns, there were dirt cheap M1 Carbines at all of the LA area gun stores, and he particularly mentioned the Rock Ola ones which according to him were available as well.
He also stated that he clearly remembered the sub $100 Russian SKS's, $79 ChiCom SKS's, and 7.62x39ammo by the case which sold at giveaway prices at gun shows.Comment
