What Is Your 'One' Gun?

What is the one gun that when comes onto the 'For Sale' threads or otherwise is available for purchase, causes you to:

1. Abandon all fiscal sense

2. Start desperately thinking what you can sell to fund the purchase

3. Abandon other projects / plans / hopes / dreams in order to buy it

4. Figure out how to secretly buy it and then smuggle it onto your safe without intervention / questioning from your spouse

5. Find ways to pathetically justify its purchase even though there is no
need for another gun in your safe

6. Cry out in despair when it is on the other side of the state and seller
won't ship


For me it is original, matching SKS rifles of any country of origin. What's yours?

None, There are a lot of guns I want and even a lot of guns I REALLY want but none that will abandon all fiscal sense much less make me sell or trade one of my firearms. If I can't afford the firearm I want I wont get it plain and simple. I'm not rich so I can't go throw money out for a 2000+ rifle. I'll either save up or just not get it.

I am not really good at waiting, so ordering it is out, but if I see one for sale, I don't really care how much it costs. Within reason of course.

I would definitely agree with your reasoned and deliberate approach to gun purchases when it comes to new production guns that are readily available to anyone with the funds. It becomes a bit more difficult when we are talking about rare, older guns that are not often on the market.

I try not to get myself in that situation by staying away from the marketplace until I'm ready to make the purchase. It doesn't always work though! M1 garand; always wanted one and I usually just hope I can't find one...until I'm ready to buy of course.

I agree with this... However, for a SCAR 16s FDE with an Eotech to match.. Just melts my heart... Still saving $$$ .... I'll get there eventually...

Currently it's the Accuracy International AE MKIII rifle. I am trying to fund one of these this year hopefully, but damn it's an expensive piece of kit. Second place is a FNH Scar 17S.

Any S&W revolver with a full barrel lug & unfluted cylinder. Especially the longer barreled ones, gets me every time.

Oh, good... I thought I was the only one..... In that case, there is quite a few guns that do that to me, usually C&Rs, since most are unique in a way, and can't be bought from the store.

Nothing at the moment, I made the mistake last year trading and selling my guns for this reason. Now I make sure I have the dollars in full rather than switching them out. Because the ones I trade is now they ones I want back LoL

Due to the 1934 NFA as amended by the 1986 FOPA, nothing much excites me that I can afford or legally buy. At one point stuff with Waffenampts was a big deal to me.
