COCO County Sheriff Seizes "49 Illegal Weapons..."

Not sure really where to begin.. but check out my favorite blog. The writter is quoting from the Sheriffs statement so dont be too harsh... Hopefully The Mayor may reword some of the writting maybe later as more info come available. Feel free to comment!

On Thursday night, Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Detectives along with agents from the California Department of Justice seized 49 weapons they believe were illegally obtained, according to the Office of the Sheriff.

The following information is from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office:

Yesterday at about 9:49 PM, Deputy Sheriffs, looking into a possible crime, went to a residence on the 100 block of Bella Vista Avenue. During their investigation at the home, a loaded Uzi submachine gun was located on a bed. The CASE (Criminal Anti-Violence Support Effort) team was called out and a search warrant for the house was obtained.

During the servicing of the search warrant, 49 illegal weapons were found. The weapons, to include Uzis, shotguns, rifles and handguns, have been taken away as evidence.

kcbrown -- The Constitution is not "the Supreme Law of the Land, except in the face of contradicting law which has not yet been overturned by the courts". It is THE SUPREME LAW OF THE LAND, PERIOD. Consider very carefully what that means for your oath to uphold the Constitution.

Here's the associated picture of the seized guns:
Unless my eyes deceive me, at least one Ruger .22, a couple of bolt guns, a loose barrel, a side-by-side shotgun, a pump shotgun, a camo shotgun with a sidesaddle, an H&K something, an Uzi-like something, and the rest are stacked atop one another at the back.

Dunno what the two handguns left-front are. Might be a 1911 and an M&P right middle.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

None of those look illegal, except maybe the two collapsing stock guns, but they are definitely old enough to be pre-ban. So unless the guy was a felon or some other circumstance that would not allow him to own firearms, I'm at a loss.

The article says "California Department of Justice seized 49 weapons they believe were illegally obtained". The probably got them without going through an FFL.

Very good to see some very pro comments from the folks commenting on the story rather than mass panic.

WTH is the pistol in the lower left hand corner of the pic. 44 auto?

silver one is AMT automag .44mag. The scoped one is a IMI Lone eagle.

Glad to see they are taking such care not to damage the property of an innocent (presumed) man.

Does anyone see 49 Illegal weapons in that picture?
This is where Law enforcement lose all their credability in my mind. And they do it all the time.

Why is it so difficult to just report the truth and show the facts for these people?

The reporter later found out that the "illegal weapons" were actually Illegally OBTAINED weapons. So as mentioned in previous posts, they were never transferred to the arrested individual.

In reading the comments, you will see that the reporter is writing a direct quote from the police at the scene. It could be a bad assumption by the police or the lack of good follow up questions by the reporter that lead to the headline. Either way the facts will come out and will tell the full story.

BTW one of the comments stated that the mp5 was an airsoft rifle. Looks like there is a wheel at the bottom of the mag.
