On Thursday night, Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Detectives along with agents from the California Department of Justice seized 49 weapons they believe were illegally obtained, according to the Office of the Sheriff.
The following information is from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office:
Yesterday at about 9:49 PM, Deputy Sheriffs, looking into a possible crime, went to a residence on the 100 block of Bella Vista Avenue. During their investigation at the home, a loaded Uzi submachine gun was located on a bed. The CASE (Criminal Anti-Violence Support Effort) team was called out and a search warrant for the house was obtained.
During the servicing of the search warrant, 49 illegal weapons were found. The weapons, to include Uzis, shotguns, rifles and handguns, have been taken away as evidence.
