    No Ammo Shortage

is it me or arent there any shortages right now? my local Walmart is packed with ammo. the same applies to online dealers. Cheaperthandirt and SGAMMO..

with the UN Treaty being signed on the 27th and the 2012 elections coming up, how come there is no shortage/buying frenzy?

I don't know, but I hope it stays that way.

Yes, suddenly companies seem to have plenty, but prices are still high. I stocked up months ago, so I can wait for prices to come back down.

I noticed the same thing, I hope vendors have taken precautions to prevent what happened last time.

Not even. They tried lighting the fuse too early and too many people took notice this time. There seemed to be a mini run on guns, parts, and ammo but it didnt last.

Hopefully that was the worst of it. Hopefully

Yeah, last time I was at Walmart, they had everything in stock. All calibers of handgun, plenty of .223. I was actually pretty surprised.

There has never been an ammo shortage. The ammo manufactures have simply slowed down their production while raising prices. There is 2 models to market goods: high volume production with a small profit per item or low volume production with a larger profit per item. A small market supply allows easier price gouging by manufactures & retailers.

I don't see a shortage, but I do see the prices haven gone up since earlier this year.

I stocked up earlier this year too, but I keep adding new guns in new calibers . So now I'm forced so buy ammo for those guns at the increased prices. At least it's readily available though!

My crate of Yugo x39 has appreciated nicely. Wish I'd had the $$$ for more at the time.

My local Walmart hasn't seemed to be short on anything. Maybe .22 rimfire but if you keep your eyes open you can find plenty.

I bought 5k of .223 and 5.56 back in March when I was still getting it for 279.00 per 1k. Glad that I did, I just can't see spending close to $380.00 per 1k. I doubt the prices will ever come back down to under $300.00 per 1k, hope I am wrong.

I keep placing "small" orders but need to man up and stock up. Found a couple types of ammo I want to buy, today.

Come next spring I think we'll see some nice deals in the market place.
