Gun Locks (idea for gun shops)

I can keep a loaded gun under my pillow. Correct? I am a single male with no children at home.
If you have minors or unauthorized persons who would otherwise have access then yes, you better lock it up.
However, does every gun in a safe need to have an individual lock on it.
Why then, did I have to buy a lock with my M1 Garand when said lock was designed for a pistol and wouldn't even work on my Garand. But I had to buy the non functional lock with the transaction of the Garand for the sake of it.Before there was Polymer there was Accuracy.Comment

Most folks that have firearms have already been forced to buy a multitude of locks or already have other means to secure their firearms.
We provide a CA approved lock with every gun we sell. It's easier to enter the same information with every sale. The majority of our customers choose to donate them back. Some customers even bring in handfuls of locks so we can recycle them to other customers. If a gun comes with a CA approved lock then we enter that one in the paperwork. Easy peasy.

We provide a gun lock with each gun we sell as well. For internet transfers, we sell the lock and buy it back on future purchases, thereby making it perpetual to each customer that purchases one. Works great, and is worth the investment. Customer satisifaction and CA compliance - we make it work!sigpic

I have been giving my locks to the LGS for a few years now. I told them to sell them to people for 1 cent if they needed a lock. I gave them probably a dozen of them.NRA Life Member

No.
It's a 'checkoff item' for delivery of a gun from the FFL. No part of the law requires one to use such a lock outside the store, or even keep it. And those locks are not useful for transport of any gun, unless used to lock a completely-enclosing case.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!Comment

Also, some local municipalities may have gun lock laws as well. For example, Livermore requires all purchasers to buy a gun lock and the safe affidavit is not acceptable.Last edited by AAShooter; 07-04-2012, 11:56 AM.Comment
