Did a PTP at Reseda, they made me buy a lock. Took it to Torrance and returned it the next day no questions asked. Just had to flirt with the counter gal a bit before presenting the lock for return.

My guess, is that it is not a Turners policy across the chain, just depends on who is working that day and if they like you.

I've also returned locks from Wal Mart that I used for a PPT of a pistol and a rifle at other FFLs.

So today I go back to Turner's to exchange the lock for an extra magazine. When the manager comes to the register he says gun locks cannot be returned. I asked why not. He said by law you have to buy a lock with the gun. I agreed but now I'm returning an UNUSED and UNOPENED lock. They actually let me leave the store without locking the gun or case. He said it's Turner's policy not to refund gun locks.

        Am I SOL?

        Lock ?

        What lock?

        I don't see a lock?

Anybody out there see a lock?

Upon purchasing my first handgun from Turner's, I was sold a gun lock, as I did not already own one, and had not purchased one in the last 30 days. Once I got the weapon home, I discovered that it actually came with one, and that I had been sold an extra. Oh, and they didn't ask me to lock up the case before I drove home.. back then, I was unaware of the laws regarding transporting a handgun.

My most recent purchase from Turner's was an HK Umarex MP5. I asked them if they mind me putting the weapon into a rifle bag I'd recently purchased before leaving the store. They questioned why I'd do such a thing, to which I responded that I had to travel through a gun-free school zone to get home. (two, actually) They basically said "so? it is a long gun, you are good to go." I continued to zip up and lock my gun bag, smiled, and said "I think I'll just play this one on the safe side."

I have never been pulled over while transporting a firearm, and though I hope I never am, (I don't drive like a dumb@&& while transporting, so no reason to be pulled over) I will always make sure I am transporting my weapons in a fashion consistent with the law, regardless of what any gun store employees say/think. I can't even begin to express how many times I've seen people take their factory clamshell case for their handgun along to the range, completely unaware of what they're doing wrong. (and yes, I mean the kind that cannot be locked. mine can be locked, and so I use it with 2 master-locks)

On another note entirely, the cute girl in the OP's post has her finger off the bang switch. Yay, someone actually taught her right. (or she took it upon herself to learn, which I'm equally as happy about)

I've been stung by this at other LGS' a couple of times. Forgot a lock and had to pay $30 for the "only" one they had left for sale. An over the top thing. I asked what their return policy was and when they said 30 days, I walked out with it and 2 minutes later was returning it. On another occasion I was picking up 2 PPTs and intended to use my own lock (with receipt) and walk each one out, one at a time. No go according to the shop. Two separate DROSes, but they still wouldn't let me do it. WTF. Made me buy a lock and when I asked about the return, "locks are not returnable". Last time I did business with them all things considered. Also had one shop KEEP my original receipt. Please show me where that is written in the PC. OMFG. The FUD is amazing in some LGSes. In most cases, Walmart is my best friend when it comes to locks.

well, if it isn't on the roster, they are prohibited from delivering it to you and are supposed to remove it from the box.

What new gun doesn't come with a lock?

When I bought my SP2022 from the San Marcos Turners they swore up & down it didn't come with a lock. So I bought one. When I got home guess what I found under the foam in the case?

I called Turners & the manager told me no sweat bring the one I bought in and they'd refund me. I kept forgetting. Only $5.

EVERY gun store that I have done a PPT with accepted the lock that came with the gun from the factory---EXCEPT Turner's---I try to do very little to no business with them.

OK... Is that your wife or your girlfriend or your sister or daughter? If that is your sister or daughter, Is she single? I am interested lol. She has a nice pair O.O and I'm being straight forward with this because I like her hat and that rifle beacuse it's the size of her arm almost.

But anyways, I have no clue on what the question was or how to answer it lol. Sorry.
