Dealers that allow adding a long gun after DROS has started usually input more than the amount you initial acquired. That way they can "add" it without redoing the DROS.
I've had a dealer input 5 long guns, when I was only buying 1. Just in case I wanted more during the 10 day wait. Dealer said it was their standard practice to input 5 as a just in case.
I've had a dealer that would not add any additional long guns after the DROS was done, because they only input 1 long gun and they didn't want to redo the DROS to add the additional long guns.
So, need to check with the dealer you are using to see what their policy is.
