Don't you know that ownership of a suppressor instantly turns you into an assassin and hitman!!!

Would that work on a 1911? I realize I might have to get a 5.5 or 6 in barrel.

Don't you mean $275? It still needs the tax stamp.

And silencers are only used to kill people just like all the 'azzualt weapon' ak47's are only used to kill people. Citizens dont need that kind of firepower with bananna clips and bayonets

                  so

Does this now mean that possession of an oil filter is constructive possession of a silencer?

                    nifty idea.

                    i see:

                    1. by itself, it's not a suppressor. you need to attach something to it to do the actual suppressing. i wonder if you use the washable K&N filter would it be usable for a million rounds???

                    2. bad aiming... since you really cant aim at the target.

The adaptor, by itself, IS considered a suppressor and IS taxed the $200. Sound crazy? Well, the ATF in the past has classified a shoe string as a machine gun.

I actually just sent the ATF a letter on this very item. There is a lot of discussion about it on the silencer boards and how it impacts constructive posession. The ATF considers a silencer part a silencer. Now, the ATF also allows "wipes" to be changed in those silencers that need wipes.

I asked the ATF a couple questions. First, is it really approved by them. Second, is it lawful as the owner of this suppressor to change the filter and does the ATF view the filter as a "wipe". Does the ATF still approve of owners changing their own wipes? Does having 10 oil filters and this item, legally owned on a Form 4, constitute any kind of constructive posession issues?

I would like to get one just because of the fun factor and the fact it could be used on just about any rifle. I don't think it will work on most pistol due to the weight. It all depends on the action. Regular suppressors often need inertia adapters to work on pistols to take the weigh of the barrel to get it to cycle.

Does better filter, like Wix, makes better suppressor than say Fram?
