Knowing that SBR price matches I called yesterday and asked about the price match as it's hard for me to get away from work and they are close and convient. After calling yesterday and telling one of their staff members the local vendor and price they said they could match it no problem. I took off from work early today to go make the purchase. After walking in and talking to the associate at the couter and another associate walked up and began to tell me why they can't match the price (the other FFL doesnt keep 9-5 hrs m-f, ect). Turns out that they would rather me go buy from another shop. The associates were only worried about making another $100. Not only did I not buy the gun from them I also did not not buy the other $800 in other merchandise that I wanted as well. What happened to customer service and the bigger picture of how much I will spend over the corse of a year vs. on one gun.
OK. Spoke to my staff members today on there day off, that had contact with the OP. This is what I was told, OP called the LGS, staff member answered phone. OP asked if we would price match said gun store XYZ. Staff member said yes we would. Staff member was not aware of gun store XYZ's hours or type of FFL or location. When OP arrived to have us price match, we told him no problem. At this point we did what we do every time. We got the name and phone number to verify the price. This is when we found out the XYZ gun shop was only open limited ours and we could not verify price. Now, we don't price match table top or part time dealer prices, never have and never will. "The associates were not worried about just making another $100". They were only following store policies period. I feel this thread has not stated the whole facts and border line bashing. OP like I said before, I am sorry for the inconvenience with this purchase. However this is why my guys follow the store policies the same every time.

Im sure he understood before he called that SBR is free to set their prices as they wish and that he has no right telling them what they should sell it for, but once they told him that they would price match it, they should have honored that. Not honoring that is a bait and switch. They could have told him on the phone that their price is what it is but instead he wasted his time going in there on false information.

This was the basis of the thread. I feel that it has gone off the rails many posts ago. The owner has apologized and promised to take action so that this will hopefully not happen to some one else. I still got the gun I wanted and found a new vendor to work with. I in no way felt entitled to a better price from them, in fact I've only spent a couple thousand with them. How ever when you have a demanding job, and family issues with cancer, deaths, and attempted suicides in the same month your time becomes extremely limited. I window shop online so that when I walk into a store with cash on me and a limited time window I want to make sure my due diligence will pay off. The sacramento area has a number of firearms dealers. Each with its own pro's and con's wich is great for giving the consumer many options. Every one is entitled to their own opinion.
