I'm sure not impossible but very impractical. We are talking about mag issues and extraction issues with a cartridge with such a large rim. Desert Eagles come to mind but they were always a finicky firearm.

My .44 Deagle been fine so far. 500 S&W is already in an AR it is called 50 Beowulf. Yeah yeah I know it aint the same but it IS a .50 and it still hurts a buttload if it hits you.

Deagles are not finicky. Revolver ammo is finicky because it comes in so many different power ratings. Deagles chambered in a revolver caliber need consistent high powered ammo for the gas system. This problem doesn't exist in the fiddy cal.

                    Possible? Yes.

Probable? No. The .500S&W is a rimmed cartridge designed for revolvers. These types of cartridges generally feed very poorly in magazine-fed firearms like AR's. On top of that, the entire bolt and barrel extension would have to be re-designed as a .500S&W would require a massive bolt-face.

If you want a big-bore AR they already exist. The .458 SOCOM is one of the best/efficient big AR cartridges and readily available uppers are made by RRA and other manufacturers.

Then you've also got .50 Beowulf and .450 bushmaster.

Has nothing to do with being a "hater".

It's just when people use terms like "Deagle" and "shotty" they sound uneducated and, frankly, stupid.

Why would you want or need it, when there's .50 Beowulf and .458 SOCOM available already?

Readily available commercial ammo is why.

Proprietary stuff falls out of favor after a few years, then components get difficult to find and even more expensive than they already were.

If you're going to reload, .458 socom is far more friendly.
