You planning is great mastermind you have But I think it is not safe. You have to do something to make them more safe. It will be good for you.

          Better than nothing, but remember...

It doesn't matter how heavy the thing is. I've seen 2 ton safes easily moved by 2 people, a few 1" bars, a fridge dolly, and minimal tools. Weight has nothing to do with security.

          Bolt the sucker down.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

I have looked all over and because the revolving plate is underneath, I cannot bolt on the bottom. Since it has to be caddie cornered I cannot bolt the back. IM LOST!!!

I think bolting that thing down is a little extreme. It is a filing cabinet, not a gun safe. It offers limited protection as you already know. A determined thief is going to open it and get the contents instead of taking the whole cabinet.

However, I do know these units and if you want to bolt it down I can offer some tips.

I would say the weakest point on this is the lock. Bolting it down is worthless when it would take a competent thief a minute or two to get past that lock and revolve the cabinet around. The other issue however is if you start putting heavier duty locks, etc on it, that screams...Hey I have something in here I really don't want you to have. Double edged sword.

                      I'll take two.

How much time did you sped just standing there spinning that thing?

Great point. I think I'll leave it as it is until I can come up with something clever.

Another GREAT point. I think I will just deter the would be thief by putting a big sign that says, "Does not revolve. No important things on other side, especially guns . Waste O' time, grab the macbook instead", on it.

Hahaha. Probable pretty sad but I still go and play, "now you see it, now you don't", about once a day. Don't tell anyone...
