I saw a firearms auction sponsored by a local gun club here... In addition to the auction mark up, the terms specified that all transfers would take place at a certain LGS and would cost $109! I skipped the auction. This same LGS charged me $50 plus sales tax on a PPT. I don't go there anymore now that I know better.

Third, Turners DOES charge this for all firearms transactions but is supposed to delete that for PPTs, its a small step that is easily overlooked by accident. Reading comprehension fail? No, its more like a problem solving failure but hey, with resources like phone numbers to management or corporate and even Turners on here at calguns, why do that when we can all start a drum circle, start a thread and that waaaah about human error or a an employee who was misimformed
PPT's takes so long for them to do. AGAIN two different employes were asked and they both said the same thing. Do you want me to get a notarized statement from each employee? I think asking two different employees is enough.
Do you know the phrase "No mean No"??

I came here asking a SIMPLE question as to the charges AFTER TWO DIFFERENT EMPLOYEES were asked at Turners.
I am sorry I only posted as you put it "ONE LINERS" but everyone else here seemed to unterstand it.
Before you come here attacking me PLEASE try to get your facts straight.
I am sorry your panties got bunched up.

In all fairness to Mikeinla, it seemed like he did contact Turner's to ask about the added fee, and came to Calguns asking if his understanding of the $35 limit on PPTs was correct. With the additional information posted to this thread, I learned that there are no exceptions, no matter how creatively disguised, either by intention or by mistake, it was. So from that perspective, I thought the OP was informative, especially with the picture of the invoice and how it was broken down.

Criticizing the complainant seems to be a common thing in these types of threads, which I don't get, especially if it's a legitimate issue that requires further clarification. The criticism is always that the complainant didn't go through steps A, B, and C before coming to Calguns to write about his experience, and that his character is somehow flawed because he didn't. Forgive me if I'm way off base here, but being that communication is a two way street, can we fairly blame the recipient for not understanding something? Shouldn't the vendor shoulder some responsibility for any miscommunication or misunderstanding? To that end, I don't see what's wrong with coming on to Calguns to discuss it, seeking the much-needed clarification from another source.

We could all benefit from a little civility here.

Gavin Newsom is a lying, cheating slickster and will be is the worst mistake California has ever made if he gets now that he has been elected Governor. Hollywood movie producers look to him and his oleaginous persona as a model for the corrupt "bad guy" politician character. This guy is so greasy, he could lubricate an entire arsenal of AR-15s just by breathing on them.

            Me: Gun counter please?
            Them: Hold on
After holding on for an eternity (like 15 seconds)
Them: This is <blank> Can I help you?
Me: Yeah, I was there last week and was charged forty dollars for a PPT (hoping to God they dont ask for my name) There was something like a "Turners Handling Fee" on the invoice?
Them: Hold on just a second
            After about half a minute
Them: Yes sir, sorry about that, have you picked up your firearm yet?
Me: uhhhh no? (oops! I'VE BEEN HAD!!!!)
Them: No problem sir, just let us know when you pick it up, we'll refund you the five dollars, sorry about that.
Me: Oh thanks a lot. Soooo... does this mean I shouldnt whine on the internet?
            Them: excuse me?
Me: oh nothing, just messin, see you on pick up!
Them: uhhhhh yeah you have a nice day sir.

Damn, that was really hard! But look how much time it took out of my day between this post of mine to the one before it.
Haha that was about my experience, but mine was much more confusing, I did a PPT on two guns at one time! The guy who did it for me took an hour to do it because he kept spelling my name wrong and entering the serial wrong, and then ended up charging me $15 more than the allowed amount( I was ready to get the heck out of there). Two seconds with the manager 10 days later got me $15 out of the register, I didn't post about it though

Then that was money well spent.

Smug quips about his inquiring of the charge will not change the fact that breaking the law is breaking the law, as any Turners employee is so aptly ready to point out on numerous matters, even when THEY are wrong about the law and spreading FUD along the way (until it becomes convenient for their sales, like ARs and AKs with bullet buttons - ).

Yet, if his invested time serves to prevent this repeated and convenient to Turners "mistake" going on for nearly a decade, I thank him for the money he spent on the electric for his computer.

I'll gladly contribute funds toward his electric bill. Any money spent on that would be a whole lot less in cost and wasted time I've spent at Turners over the years, having to deal with their FUD, lies about their inventory, and being the victim of their expertise at botching sales and orders, along with the gouging of their hidden $5.00 cost for which they do not advise the customer about until AFTER purchase.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

OP, try to PM the Turners representative here, they have a sub-forum in this site. If they ignore you, I suggest calling the DOJ on this matter. Turners have been making this alleged mistake over and over again. Hopefully, your action will prevent others from becoming victims of this recurring alleged mistake in future transactions.

I can't remember which number I called when I had a complaint about Gun World. They refused to give me a copy of the DROS and accused me of asking them to do something that's illegal. One phone call from the DOJ and the owner sheepishly apologized and offered to mail the DROS asap.
